Yo wut, I don't get this
I killed Harvey, so who the heck is sending Mutants, Gunners, lost BIS wanderers, into MY gauntlet? The quest keeps triggering that I have to go fight them and defend my crib, yet since Harvey is dead, who is leading these people into the Gauntlet???

I killed the dude hoping that no more people will come through the gauntlet and I can officially close it down but people specifically Mutants keep coming through it. How are they even surviving in the first place? That gauntlet aint easy to get through of.

I know that, but since Harvey is dead, who is sending these mutants/gunners etc into the Gauntlet? There is no one out there now fooling people into coming through it now. There shouldn't be anyone coming through that gauntlet with Harvey dead now.

Harvey lured people into the gauntlet but now with him out of the picture, there is no one out there luring folk into it, thus no one should be coming through that gauntlet now.

Unintended bug I assume?

Why would you think there weren't replacement slaves lined up for the job, or multiple working at the same time? There was nothing unique about Harvey, just a pawn being forced to do a job. It's a lucrative and entertaining trap for the raiders and some of them are going to want to keep it going.

there is no one in the game that is doing harvey's job in his replacement, at least no one i can visually see

It it is 'amoral combat' they are not 'victims', *you* are the victim and they are the new overboss in spe (at least that's what they hope)

If you don't want to fight them, don't do the side quest.

You can't "visually see" most of what is happening in the commonwealth. It's abstracted and summarized for game format. It doesn't take 5 minutes to run all the way across New England, and there wouldn't be just ~50 people living there. There's thousands of square miles of stuff you aren't seeing but you have to imagine is there and happening while you deal with the "important stuff."

so my raiders are waiting for someone to defeat me in amoral combat and then they will ditch me for the new person and make that new person their overboss?

yeah but where is the loyalty and respect, i saved theirr butts and made nuka world great again, motha fukas want me dead by sending me in amoral combatt every day? Wow....
Colter sucked, the SS is nothing like Colter. Nuka World was dying with Colter in charge. Do not compare Colter with SS. I can understand why they wanted Colter dead but SS literally made Nuka World great something Colter failed at doing. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shoving me into amoral combat so that one day I am gonna die to some random wastelander and they will crown him new overboss!?!? OUTRAGEOUS!!

I don't think they have any particular intention to replace the player; Gage does seem generally happy with you as a replacement for Colter.

We don't see how people are getting lured in, but we also don't ever see them actually running the Gauntlet. We can assume all that happens "off-screen" as far as we're concerned.

Raiders respect power. If someone can defeat you, they will respect them instead.

By the time you clear and repower Nuka-World, you are so op no one can beat you anyway.
And you don't have to fight anyone if you don't want to.

Hmm...morally dubious people are the ones you rarely should trust, specially when it comes to loyalty. At least if you don't deal with them on personal level. They don't demand or get annoyed if you don't trust them as overboss either.

It could also be interpreted as people outside nuka-cola challenging you and you defending your position. If they gave it to you because you killed Colter and passed the gaunlet then another one doing the same to you can be acknowledged as the new overboss.

Moral of the story is, don't sign up for raiders/gunners and in general fickle people if you are expecting loyalty.

So basically I am on borrowed time and eventually I will succumb to the same fate as Colter one day?

So every time I step foot in Amoral Combat, I have to keep in mind that not only am I fighting to defend my Overboss title but I am also fighting to stay alive and thus subsequently maintaining my grasp on Nuka World?

Would be cool if there was a way to watch others trying to get through the gauntlet and seeing red eye taunting them as they make their way through. Seeing your raiders run the gauntlet would be dope.

I'm also curious how the dumb super mutant overlords are making it through the gauntlet so easily, I literally fought 4 in a row today.
