Fallout 4 closing by itself
For some reason Fallout 4 closes by itself when I'm playing, sometimes it closes on the loading screen, and sometimes during gameplay, is anyone experiencing this too? what to do?

It could be crashing. Could be a mod causing it. When it crashes this is usually to the desktop without any message. There might be logs somewhere, I dunno.

I don't use mods in the game

The game isn't totally free of bugs. Maybe there's logs somewhere in the game dir. I think there's also an unofficial patch mod and that might fix some crashing. Try that out. I've had CTD in my games and I think the unofficial patch mod fixed it because the game became very stable.

check windows event viewer and windows reliability history. either or both might have a game crash event. or system related errors

my fo4 used to ctd a lot a while ago then it turned out to be a broken video card memory

Please go to the top of your steam library window and click HELP > SYSTEM INFORMATION.

Paste the whole list here.

Also please could you be more specific - have you ever been able to play the game on that *exact* computer before now? Is it breaking or has it just never once run?

I just installed the game and am playing for the first time. My game keeps crashing as I'm running toward the vault in the opening scene where the bombs are dropping. I can't even make it there.

one common cause: if you have an nvidia graphics card, turn off weapon debris in the graphic settings.

Definitely turn off weapon debris. Also, save yourself hassle and use the nVidia Settings app to lock the game at 60 fps. If you don't, then plan on saving often as your character will get stuck in places.

Something has changed from yesterday. Yesterday afternoon the game ran fine. In the evening i got crashing on load screen. Followed all the online suggestions for troubleshooting (update directX, updated video drivers, verified file integrity, ran as admin, lots of hard drive space....). I even uninstalled and reinstalled in steam, same thing. Ugh.
There are occasions I get those crashes, sometimes the game freeze out of nowhere like last night. Sometimes I can play for 3-5 hours straight without problems but last night was that occasion where I played for 2 hours then going to Boston ruins using PA jetpack build jumping from top of buildings, looting raiders, all the sudden the game stop responding doing all that.
But in my case my saved game are certainly corrupted due to putting few modifications.

Anyway those issues you're faced I do get them sometimes from times which sounds like I'm playing russian roullete. Not always will be that lucky day to play for a long session for hours straight.
My tips always manually backup your saved game, before testing modifications or when you have disable them and remove after.
If you were not modding and is playing unmodded then try Steam client > library > Fallout 4 > properties > local files > verify the integrity of cache files and wait untill ''all files have been reacquired'' and run the procedure again and when ''all files successfully validated'', run the game.
Or tweak your gpu panel and turn any modern settings like low latency mode because this game is quite old.

Please read and do this. Maybe in your own threads, because the OP has yet to even reply yet and you both have come in with your own possibly-related possibly-unrelated issues to their thread.

Thanks :)

That rig should run the game just fine, did any plugs or hardware change like get disconnected, did your drive fail at all?

Alternately: are you using cloud saves with this game? Either on steam, or using OneDrive? TURN OFF ONE DRIVE, and get your saves off the cloud from steam - steam cloud works great for smaller games but the save files on this one get huge very quickly, and filling them up on that save allotment might have an impact on your play.

Did your OS update at all between then and now?
