All my parts fully support Windows 11.
I am on newest version of Win 11.
Something is odd with what OP says.
this game creates a folder
Documents\My Games\Fallout4
folder will contain 3 ini/preference files when the launcher runs
fallout4.ini fallout4custom.ini fallout4prefs.ini
and your saves folder when the game runs
check antivirus log. might be blocking the game launcher and game
check windows security/controlled folder access. if on add exception for game launcher and game
and very common issue, windows one drive moves files out of the documents folder into one drive folder. the game does NOT read one drive folders. tweak one drive to leave the game files where they are
Onedrive is not setup, never have one. Controlled folder access is off, when sarting the game it creates a folder in this PC/Documents/My Games
But not in c:/ Users/*user*/Documents
The game does not report and error when saving so it must be saving some where....
right click on Documents folder in the quick access file explorer window and select properties
on my pc c:\users\mywindowsLogin\Documents and This PC/Documents are the SAME
open file explorer. search c:\users for files ending in *.fos (your fallout4 saves)
you could also search for fallout4* to find out where folders are being created.
should have another in folder c:\users\yourwindowsLoginappdata\local
c:\users\yourwindowsLogin\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Saves
the This PC -> Documents entry in file explorer is the same folder
BUT under the top quick access part, THAT Documents folder may NOT be the same folder. which seems to be what you are seeing. that section of file explorer are folders you visit frequently recently. you can right click on the folder in quick access and remove from quick access if it is confusing
logout.
login with the new account
start steam then start game. menus work? saves work?
This is crap, could this be a hardware issue?
you have run steam verify game files, correct?
go to the game folder
...\steam\steamapps\common\fallout 4
right click on fallout4launcher.exe and run with admin permission
and see what happens. all menu choices not grayed out?
and more importantly, do you have mods? or did your ever have mods?
No problem with windows 11. Must be something else.
