Fallout 5?
Haven't seen a topic thread for Fallout 5. Anyone have any word?

Is Bethesda working on making it a VR game? I'm kindof over Fallout 76. It's ok, it's just not moddable and for me that's kindof ruined it.

In fallout 5 I would like the ability to actually upgrade the existing buildings and create better settlements and buildings. Hopefully they incorporate a lot of the mods the community has built.

I mean, if they just incorporated a good portion of the mods and added more storyline, Fallout 5 would pretty much be done.

I guess they're going to build Skyrim first and then we'll see the next version of Fallout? I have no interest in skyrim, I guess it has a larger fanbase than Fallout tho?

Todd howard has confermed that fallout 5 will be developed but we need to wait some years before the realese , maybe 2025/2026. i can't wait for it.

Actually there have been discussions regarding Fallout 5 periodically for quite a while now and unfortunately it's still a long way off seeing as Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 takes precedence over Fallout 5, although they have likely begun to work on Fallout 5 in some capacity. Unfortunately at this time they have not released any details, not even a title nor a time frame for a possible release date. They haven't even confirmed platforms so the game is still years away.

Anything you might have heard are nothing more than unsubstantiated rumors and pure speculation. What they have however revealed is that they've upgraded their engine and it's called "Creation Engine 2" which is the largest overhaul since t.E.S. Oblivion and supposedly this new engine brings new renders, lighting, animations, landscape system and photogrammetry. That may or may not suggest they'll implement VR or not. Although I sincerely hope they won't make it VR exclusively and that they won't repeat the mistakes of Fallout 76 by including multiplayer among other things.

And to answer your last question, yes The Elder Scrolls franchise has possibly a larger fan base than Fallout does. Just to point out that Skyrim is just one game in the series and they're currently working on the 6th instalment of the franchise, not including the Elder Scrolls online.

Redfall appears to be FO76 cross-bred with Far Harbor. and The Division. Abd a bit of Colonial Gothic and Call Of Cthulhu being set in the MA commonwealth. Might turn out to be OK, but seems to be heavily Preston Garvey-esque mission spam. Time will tell. I hope it won't be another subscription based release. Probably one for the junior byrgers though.

Whoa there pal. No chance for those dates. Starfield this year then its The Elder Scrolls. Fallout is years away, maybe ten.

2034 for Fallout 5 is a realistic estimate, provided they WILL focus on Fallout 5 after Elder Scrolls 6 instead of something else.

I hope Starfield is successful enough for the settlement obsessed so Todd Howard can focus on that to turn it into a full series. Then hopefully someone less in love with dull settlement building can take over Fallout and Elder Scrolls.

You don't even have to involve yourself in settlements if you don't want to. As for Todd Howards vision, I wouldn't be surprised to hear him announce his retirement before Fallout 5 maybe even ES 6 is released. He has been at it a long time, of course I think he really enjoys it so it might be a kicking and screaming situation when it does happen.

Yeah, I don't see that in the few coming years, simply because Starfield is YUGE and may not even be released on schedule. Then the debugging, at our expense of course.

No, because there hasn't been any word. There won't be a forum for it until Bethesda puts one here in Steam. it doesn't show up magically. hell does even 76 have one?

good christ I hope not. They aren't very good anyway, and VR won't make them the money that a plain and simple playable-by-everyone-with-a-computer game will.

In fallout 5 I would like the ability to actually upgrade the existing buildings and create better settlements and buildings.

Yes, that would be nice.

Hopefully they incorporate a lot of the mods the community has built.

oh HELL NO on this though. I don't want someone else's garbage settlement I want to make my own, whole, from the ground up. If you want to use settlement transfers that's fine, but I don't want them in the vanilla game in any way.

I mean, if they just incorporated a good portion of the mods and added more storyline, Fallout 5 would pretty much be done.

I'd prefer they actually hire real people and do real work on their own game instead of leeching off the incredible talents that are available. Hire them, yes. Absolutely. But make their own, instead of the utter garbage cop-out that was 76's stuff. Half of it I recognized from mods. no sign that they paid for that stuff.

I guess they're going to build Skyrim first and then we'll see the next version of Fallout? I have no interest in skyrim, I guess it has a larger fanbase than Fallout tho?

Skyrim's fans will do what they do. Fallout's fans will do what we do. Can be both, but highly unlikely. They're both absolutely cash cows. Whatever they wind up doing on the fantasy side I won't bother with, nor with their space game until it's like 20 bucks on sale and provably runs on my machine.

I like both games. Most of the people I know have played and enjoyed both games, I don't see it as unlikely for that to be the case. I am also looking forward to Starfield, particularly the potential it has for the community to mod it.

I didn't care for skyrim, I understand the appeal it just definitely wasn't for me. however the hardcore fans of it are often ... rather annoying :) "which is better" pops up in here by people who obviously don't want us to say "fallout" in the fallout section. :D
