Weapons/Armor for Ahdesive
I am looking to pick up any armor/weapons that might be able to scrap for Adhesive, but i am unsure of what mods would yield it. Sometimes i get it, some i dont, is it random, or is it just certain mods on the items that give it when scrapped? I am doing the, veg starch but its going slowly, Any advice would help.

I think you're more likely to get adhesives if a mod on your weapon/armor cost at least two adhesives to make. So you would need to study lists that tell you what ingredients are required for weapon and/or armor mods. Yeah, I know, this answer doesn't give you a quick insight into the matter. Sorry about that.

You will never get adhesive or oil from scrapping armor and weapons, even with the Scrapper perk. (You will also never get acid, ceramic, antiseptic, or fertilizer from armor/weapons, but that is because no weapon contains those in the first place.)

If you want adhesive, your only options are junk items (specifically duct tape, wonderglue, and vegetable startch) or shipments.

Farming vegetable starch is the way to go.

More farms plus local leader perks and setup supply caravans between settlements which makes all your resources usable in any settlement, all your farms, water etc, you'll be able to get a lot, each settler can work 6 food total so mutfruit counts as 1 food for each plant, tato counts as 0.5 so 6 mutfruit plants, 12 tato plants plus 12 corn plants for 3 farmers total as a basic setup in each settlement.

So much this. Unless a settlement has a low budget and needs efficient food assignments, plant tons of Corn, Mutfruit, and Tatos wherever you can, then craft "free" vegetable starch from your supply lines every few days.

Aside from that, always check merchants for duct tape and wonderglue variants. If you're really hard up for adhesive, you can buy shipments from Daisy (Goodneighbor), Penny (Covenant), Percy/Myrna (Diamond City), Cog (FH/Acadia), Sister Mai (FH/Nucleus), and - if you're really desperate - Brother Ogden (Crater of Atom), but shipments are stupidly expensive by comparison.

Yeah, that's a much better idea, because in hind sight, I don't know what I was thinking... I was driveling all kinds of nonsense there, because these guys here...

... are actually right.
And don't forget purified water for your adhesive farm.

I often run with "dirty water" mods (where you can't just pump purified water by hand out of a 6ft deep hole in the mud). Kind of limits your adhesive farming as well as your water farming - they are apparently related.

I guess i need to work on my settlements, get setup to have extra to make Starch. Which i hope works out cause i am having alittle bit of bad luck with having enough of all 3 i am always 1 item low to make it..
You only need to have one settlement that has enough ingredients and then you can make starch anywhere there is a supply line.

Top tip: plant an extra two tato plants per population - that comes "off the top" for the settlers own food. Then plant a separate plantation with equal parts corn, tato, mutfruit, and assign farmers in groups of FOUR (not 3) to these. Four farmers can farm 12 tato 12 corn 12 mutfruit.

Don't forget you can manually harvest the plants to get more food. (You still need a farmer to tend them, of course). A single farmer can handle 3 mutfruit plants, 3 tato plants, and 3 corn plants. By manually harvesting the food, that means a single farmer can produce the ingredients for a guaranteed 1 vegetable starch (so 5 adhesive) per day.

This is in addition to whatever food is automatically added into the workshop each day.

or just do monocultures in different settlements to spare you all this multiplanttype counting, on top you dont get so much different stacks in the food section of a settlement.

Yeah that is probably more efficient to manage long term, but you have to start somewhere, and also not everyone gets Local Leader.

Yea i think my main issue is my settlers are eating one specific food & that is what i am short on. I am doing Sanctuary abit of everything, i think i have like 12 Mutfruit plants, 20 tato, & 2 corn that i planted. I am having Abernathy, & Tenpines Bluff sdo tatos, Greygarden, & Greentop Nursery will do Mutfruit, & lastySunshine Trading Co-op i am gonna do just corn. As far as how many settlers per settlement, Abernathy, Tenpines, & Greentop will be getting no new settlers who they have there is all they r getting. Sanctuary i had added a few will keep who i have and not add anymore, Sunshine, I have setup 12 beds but i bout i will use all of them. I do have 1 small issue i have mayb 10 water purifier's, & the purified water is almost not going up, if at all in the workshop. Might get The Slog, Finch farm, & Country Crossing also in the chain, make Slog Corn, keep Country mutfruit, & with Finch make it either Corn, or tato idk yet. So if I have a total pop of 10 in sanctuary, with my current plants, if they r eating 10 total food, I should be getting either 2 mutfruit, all the corn, & tato, or 14 corn, all tato & mutfruit, or 14 tato, all corn, & mutfruit. Is there anything i am missin or wrong about?
