Share/Transfer saves between different users.
We use family sharing.
Because I didn't want to bother switching accounts, I played Fo4 on my brother's account. I'm on the same PC, we're sharing libraries to avoid constantly switching accounts. Now we have each our own computer, and I'd like to play on my account, since I guess he'd like to use his account /s while I use mine. Honestly didn't think there would be problem since all saves are stored in the same location, in documents. But I can't. Does anyone know how to do that? Help!

If the game is on YOUR Steam account and you're sharing it to them, there's nothing you need to do aside from ensuring you have the same mods installed. Once you launch Fallout 4 on your new PC Steam Cloud will download the saves.

If the game is on THEIR account shared to you, or if you buy your own copy, you'll have to do a little work to get the saves.

On your family member's PC:
  1. Launch the game and delete any extra saves. This will drastically reduce the amount of data you'll be moving as Fallout 4 saves become huge over time.
  2. Navigate to his Documents folder, then to My Games>Fallout4.
  3. Select the Saves folder and pack it up into your favorite flavor of archive utility (Windows ZIP, WinRAR, 7zip, etc.)
  4. Transfer the archive to your PC.

On your PC:
  1. In Steam, right-click on Fallout 4 in-library and hit properties. Disable "Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud for Fallout 4".
  2. Make sure that you have the exact same list of mods and CC mods as the copy of Fallout 4 on the other PC! I cannot stress this enough. If the source of the save is modded, you must be modded exactly the same otherwise you're in for a world of heartache.
  3. Launch the game all the way to the main menu once to ensure the proper folder tree is built.
  4. Take the archive you made on the other PC and drop it into your Documents>My Games>Fallout4 folder, then unpack it so that all of the files dump loosely into Saves.
  5. Launch Fallout 4. You should see the saves in the load list.
  6. With the game still running, ALT-TAB out, go back to Properties and re-enable "Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud for Fallout 4".

I'm not sure what your trying to say, but saves are backed up to the cloud or what-ever, so if u install FO4 on your new pc again, it should include the saves.

I just had to sort this out myself. It's easy, luckily.

With the game selected in Steam on the account with the saves, go to documents>myGames just like the instructions above, save your save files to somewhere else. I just made a 'transfer save games' folder in MyGames but NOT in the save games folder.
Then switch steam accounts, go to the game's start page and go back to your mygames folder.
Move the saves from the temp folder into the saves folder and hey presto!

I had no idea that Steam would change what was available in the saves folder but that's exactly what it does. Cop and pasting doesn't work either because when you switch accounts, it removes the 'copied' files so there's nothing to paste.
