Yeah not cool at all. I am highly against modders "selling" their mods like that. If they want to make money, then they need to make their own games. Locking a mod behind a patreon is kinda sketch.
Asking for donations for their work, cool. But locking them behind paywalls? nah.
And only one of those is *legal*.
They cannot legally sell their fallout stuff. It's not a grey area. they can accept donations - that's why Nexus asserts what it does - they are not held responsible for the money going through their click, because they are not charging for the mods.
Yep totally okay with mods that do this. I support some bannerlord mods that do delayed releases for non-patreon. THAT is acceptable. But to explicitly lock mods behind a paywall is kinda dirty imo. Glad I'm not the only one to think so.
