Removing the hidden clothing - the under clothes/body suit items

There are some pieces of clothing that when equipped become invisible in the list of clothes. Usually the 1 piece under clothes like vault suits and the like. There are other mods that add clothes that also have this effect, and sometimes it is very difficult to remove the under clothes if you don't have a ready replacement pair with you.
For example: one outfit comes with the under clothes/body suit as well as other pieces, but now I want to try a different outfit selection that does not come w/ under clothes. and I cannot remove it from the 1st outfit because it is invisible in the Apparel list.
Is there a setting/mod/way for these pieces of clothing to remain selectable in the Apparel list while equipped? Usually an article of clothing that does replace the body suit becomes a hidden piece as well.

I'm not quite sure what you are talking about. But there is a trick where you first add an item and activate it that doesn't accept armour, then do the same with a piece of armour. That will remove the first piece leaving the npc just with armour on which you can remove.

Perhaps I'm not being clear enough. Hmmm..... ok! Got it.

The Vault 111 outfit you get from vault when you start the game. When you press T to equip it, the item disappears on the right side of your inventory screen. It has been equipped. Now there are scraps of armor pieces all around that you can also equip on top of the V111 outfit, and these pieces do NOT disappear from the list. It isn't until you come across another base outfit similar to the V111 body suit that will then replace the V111 outfit. But now the new item you just equipped disappears while the V111 shows back up in the list.

Now I have a couple armor & outfit mods I added to the game, some of which do not come with an article of clothing that is marked to replace such a piece. While they come w/ shirts and vests and arms and legs and boots etc etc etc, and they all fit nicely on the character, the V111 body suit is still attached to the character.
Surely by now you can see the problem.

A current specific case: V111 jumpsuit, a found V114 jumpsuit, and the Cross Brotherhood Recon Outfit's Underarmor piece. These 3 pieces will all disappear from your inventory the moment you equip it, and can only show up again when any of the other 2 are equipped, of course which will in turn disappear when they are done so.
SO! If there is an armor set or clothing that does not have a corresponding item that can replace the article of clothing that is marked as a body suit or whatever, then that piece is not removable.

Hence the reason why I ask for assistance in this manner. It is not to see pixel boobs.

what you can do is equip a piece of clothing that has conflicts with the armor pieces. so for instance the athletic/gunner guard outfit can accept arm and chest armor, but not leg pieces so if you try to equip a leg armor piece, they will strip down to their skivvies. then you can remove the under-clothing.

Ok OP I see what you want - yes use the armour trick. A dress then a single piece of armour usually works. Or a hazmat suit then a piece of armour.

Yes, after it has been equipped, so it is easier to remove when a custom armor set or outfit doesn't conflict when the new set does not have a replacement piece that will un-equip the 'undergear'.

equip some boots/shoes (from many mods) then usually it will remove the clothing then equip whatever you wish
