Need Brahmin

There are 3 Brahmin just outside of StarLight roaming around... they've been there for a while. If I use the Brahmin Trap from one of the DLCs, and capture a Brahmin, will I be able to keep it in a Pen with the Brahmin Trough?

And/Or... Other than waiting to Randomly run into the Brahmin Salesman... which has yet to show up after a couple of hundred hours of play time... is there a way to get Brahmin for my Settlements?

they just show up at settelments i have some never captured any .....just throw down a trough and they show up as far as i know

Once you get enough settlers they appear. I think it was 10 or 15, probably 10 cause I've had 2 many times and I don't think I've ever had 30 settlers.

I've had 8 Settlers for quite some time... but recently got another 8; so I'll wait it out, and hope for the best. I'm using a Mod which allows me to create Synths... which is the total population of the Settlement; I hope that doesn't prevent them from showing up.

But I do have a Trough.... and some Razor Grain around it.

You can build a brahmin feed trough. I am not sure of this but it is said to attract brahmins to the settlement, if there is a signal beacon, of course.
You can build a brahmin trap but if there is no trough the animal will wander in the settlement
I don't think the trough needs to be filled, my brahmins don't wander even if it is empty. But maybe I'm wrong.

Aside from everything other people have mentioned, there is a random encounter with Kelly, who will sell you a brahmin and send it to the settlement of your choice. Repeatable.

By the way, can you move a brahmin from a settlement to another, like a normal settler ?
It bothers me to build a trap in each settlement.

I have the Trough, I've had it for some time... however... I do not have (nor want) a Signal Beacon (Assuming that's the Recruitment Beacon of which you're speaking).

But now I will try the Brahmin Trap... I was concerned that would only anger the brahmin once released. :) But I agree... I'll have one settlement in charge of the trap; and they can send the brahmin to other locations.

ya pretty sure they are tied to the beacon so if your not advertising they probably wont just show up

A feeding trough does not attract brahmin to a settlement. It attracts brahmin within a settlement already - keeps them from wandering around.

If you want to get brahmin for a settlement, they have a chance to appear alongside regular settlers when they arrive (so you need an active beacon). You can also get them from the cages (if you have the DLC) or the randomly travelling brahmin saleswomen.

As for sending the brahmin from one settlement to another, as far as I know there is no way to do that.

I just arrived at the Institute, so I can't place the traps just yet... but Great to Know that should work. I'll also try to verify whether or not I can send them to another Settlement; otherwise... Traps all around :).

Just an UpDate:

Trap worked Great. I now have a Brahmin in StarLight. And I Can Confirm, You cannot interact them; so I'll have to build a trap at each Settlement. I think I'll use the Island (when I get to it) for a Brahmin Ranch, and have a whole Herd of them. Yippie Ki Ya Mother... Huh, Nevermind. :)

Settlement beacon has a chance to recruit a brahmin.
Trap can catch a brahmin.
You can find what her name and buy a brahmin.
My idea was to get brahmin and use the fetilizer to make cheap .45 ammo.
It wasn't really worth the effort.

Regarding the size of the Herd... No Idea. I haven't been to the Island in Years; so I don't really recall how big it is... but it will depend on the size of everything; but it will be Ridiculous :)... Mooing all Day and all Night :)
