I have never done much when it comes to quest lines. Think I've only ever finished the Minuteman questline and the Nuka World questline.
Eh. I kinda like having the synth background from the alternate start mod. This way I can just waltz past synth patrols XD
Also why alot of people recommend no modded play throughs to experience everything then do the modded ones and appreciate the differences.
You really should read into all the holo tapes you ever find especially the info ones you get from terminals or as quests. They reveal a lot more than story lets on or by the time they do you can just sneak peak at the info on the tapes that are readable.
After you get the info from the institute visit the BoS, Minutemen, or Railroad to do the next steps (it's after you build the teleporter). BoS leader calls you and Maxon wants you to kill Danse in the outpost near the steelworks.
You can kill them or try to convince them not to kill Danse which requires many speech checks. Also Maxon seems to know if you chose not to kill Danse as you exit the station and again you gotta basically sweet talk him into not killing Danse which the game literally wants you NOT to save Danse at that point. Easier to kill and get over with. Part of the BoS questline which sorta tests your loyalty to the BoS not so much the BoS members or fellow soldier drones.
You think that's bad later you gotta eliminate the Railroad all but P.A.M. then nuke the institute leaving no survivors and basically complete a war machine death machine to the robot fearing medeavil wannabe larping literal Nut(andbolt)jobs in tin foil suits.
Not to mention the radiant quests of convincing settlements to supply BoS with supplies which unless you own them all you gotta either buy them with caps or literally strong arm them via intimidation.
Yeah the BoS questline as a whole is establishing a fearful militarized dictatorship of sorts to terrorize....erm i mean free the commonwealth of the robot / tech menaces.
I've played plenty of Fallout, but never bothered with main quests XD They just seemed boring + powercreep and stuff.
Again main questlines and DLC reveal ALOT of more lore to the bethesda fallout especially pertaining to ghouls, the island, the bombs, and overall the institute.
I see many people do their first playthrus on twitch, and many people just buying the game, trying to decide here in recent discounts. It doesn't matter how long it's been. It's always new for someone.
And I haven't said you shouldn't talk about it, i said it's in the title and it is a big spoiler for who haven't played yet. Choose a proper title, put a spoiler tag and warn people before uncovering important details, that is all. If you really asked it as a question of course.
