Survival Beta (BUG) Power Armor Crafting Overencumbered Damage
I flat out feel so damn embarressed writing this!

So I come back after a great adventure, putting my goodies away and thought to myself,

"Hey this is a great time to upgrade my PA and start using it!"

Well ♥♥♥♥ me that was a big mistake. It turns out that while I was working on it, the game was telling me that I was overencumbered? And because of that I took damage as im in survival mode. This just kept happening, I moved the station as I thought I was too squished, nope, moved it outside, nope. Then me being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...died due to it.

Anyone else experienced this? This is so bloody annoying!

Yeah, I get that as well. I'm sure they'll fix it before Survival mode is officially launched but it's very annoying for beta testing. Especially when it can cripple or kill you.

That doesn't sound like a bug. To work on your power armor you have to get out of it, meaning you don't get the boost to your encumberance. So if you are carrying too much, you would suffer any negative effects from being over encumbered. Maybe put some sort of storage container next to the PA workstation to hold extra equipment until you can get your PA back on.

There is a bug with the power armor station, when you are at the station it seems to count all the pieces on the frame as being in your inventory, which can exceed your carry weight easily, I've become crippled from working on pa because I went afk. Thankfully I have the hp regen perk or I would have died.

Now that would be a bug. I know I've had instances where I took my PA off before offloading my junk and stuff and suddenly found my self encumbered. Probably not a good thing to do in survival mode.

I guess the easiest work around for now would be to not mess around when crafting at the PA station. Get in, get the work done, and get out. If you need to afk either exit the station or pause the game.

Lol well obviously, I haven't done that since, my comment was more confirming the bug than asking what to do :)

Yep 100% that is what's happening to me. I made sure when I went out of the PA that I wasn't over the item limit but it kept happening. It's clearly a bug.

I'm having this problem! Just bumping to see if there are any more bites. Seems not everyone experiences this? Survival mode has come out of beta now so I'm wondering whether it's being looked into. I've also noticed that the total weight according to my pip-boy gets messed up - but transferring a bunch of my weapons into then back out of a container of some sort seems to fix it back up. Weird bug.

Beth should make it dependable on player's movement. You stand still - you take no damage. You walk - you take damage.

Can confirm this bug is still happening

Bump. Still happening.
Murissokah Mar 26, 2017 @ 12:42pm
This sucks. It is specially annonying in survival mode, when you are going for the most immersive experience and your reduced carry weight makes you die while fixing armor. Best solution I've found for now was to make a backpack with a lot of carry weight (mod) and use that while maintaining the armor.

^+^ Still a bug, still happening.I sleep/save before doing any PA work.

Can't blame Berthesda for not fixing bugs, they're busy curating micro-dlcs to make sure there's no bug.
FluffyGuy Oct 14, 2017 @ 9:42am
really? everyone sayin this is a bug? and here i thought it was normal, i asumed it was taking all the weight as if i equiped the power station with all the junk when i go to upgrade my power armor , am also on Survival but i have life giver rank 3 so i heal the damage i take, so it didn't bother me,
