How will my Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M run this?
Hey,
I will get this game no matter what, but I was just wondering what graphics setting and how well Fallout 4 will run with my GPU. I've checked and it's better than required (http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-860M-vs-GeForce-GTX-550-Ti), but not quite up to scratch for recomended. I've checked every other stat of my computer and it seems like it should do well in all other areas.
I just want to make sure it'll get over 45fps, hopefully to 60 and above.
Thanks!

It would run, but don't pin your hopes to high on those FPS

I don't really know Nvidia but I can offer my (weaker) specs as comparison. I'm playing fine with mostly High settings on an AMD A10-8700P(Quad-Core 1.9gzh-3.2 I believe)/Radeon R6 APU. Again I don't know how that compares but that's just a reference I suppose.

I did turn down Godrays to low which was the most serious offender in performance for me.

The 860m is about the same as a 750ti. You'll be fine.

I have a GTX 760. The game defaults me to high settings, but I play on ultra just fine. I get from 33 to 60 fps depending on circumstances, lighting, climate etc. But I hardly ever get a stutter or something like that. I think the 860m is a little weaker than a 760 but it shouldn't be a problem. Maybe not on ultra, but on high which looks almost the same. I do suggest you set actors to 100 whatever your setting if you want to snipe from far away.
I'm currently running this game on High settings with the gpu you have. The only thing I didn't make on recommanded was my processor. but it's still beats the minium by a long shot. I used to run it on ultra, turned it down since I tried to go melee, to me, it was laggy, so pegged it down a notch and I don't see a huge difference. I could opimize the game, but there's a huge difference with the distance that I do not like. I like having a High distance viewing, even if it lowers my fps slightly, I'm ok with it. I just like sniping things I can see before they can see me, or melee sneak them.

Oh. I forgot that this was a popular new release, never gotten so much in such a short amount of time.

Thanks for the help, I probably should be good with mid-high settings, definitley gonna buy and download F4 at the end of my holiday. My computer is usually capable of mid-high settings, but I just wanted to check because I recently purchased Lichdom: Battlemage, which is very poorly optimised for NVIDIA, so I was a little worried... If anyone's wondering, I've got an MSI GE60.
Anyway, thanks, I'm really looking forward to playing Fallout 4!

Don't mean to bump this, but I recently got Mad Max, and it has basically the same performance as Charlemagne says he has with this! I'm guessing that means similar for Fallout 4 then.

I don;t think things work like that....but as long as 30ish fps are fine with you then you should not have a problem....sheesh I run it on a GT 740 and mostly get 30 fps (in the bad areas I get 24 to 27)
