Preston Garvey not giving any Minutemen quests (Radiant or faction quest)

Hi,

Have any one of you encountered a situation where, after completing First Step, Preston Garvey will not give you any more quests (including quests like Taking Independence)? If so, are there any solutions to fix the problem? I have been looking all over the Bethesda forums and Google, and all discussed Preston issues happen AFTER doing Taking Independence.

More specific details: after agreeing to join the Minutemen, Preston Garvey does not give you any more quests (he just goes "Anything Else", then the dialogue wheel for companions is displayed). Even after getting the minimum number of settlements to trigger Taking independence, he still doesn't give any quests.

No mods used. And this has already happened to me two consecutive times (I started a new game in the hopes that I would not encounter it).

Anyone know of a console command to fix this?

I might suggest that you kill him, resurrect him, disable , enable him and see what happens. There is a commnad to reset Ai, but dont know what it is.

im having the same issue im running the latest survival beta so i dont have access to console command to try and fix it im not sure whats causing him to not give quest

Alright, I have been having this problem for some time in the Survival Beta, I had a character all the way to 30 and still was not receiving Radiant Quests or Taking Independence. However, today on a level 11 character I had just dismissed Codsworth(sent to sanctuary) Talked to dogmeat then dismissed (sent to sanctuary) then found Preston in Sanctuary and boom he says the settlement in trouble stuff. Attempt to dismiss all companions first ?

I'm having this problem as well in the Survival beta.

Same here. Survival beta and no mods. I'm at level 25 and after completing first steps i haven't received any more minutemen radiant quests nor taking independence, and i already have 6 settlements. I have even taken preston to the normal settlement defense missions to see if could force him out of this state, but that has not changed a thing so far.

I'll try to dismiss some companions at sanctuary to see if things change.

I have a similar problem with knight rhys and cleansing the commonwealth ... he stops talking when I complete the quest and never gives me any more.... :(

Well some of us find having a summonable army of Minutemen and a artillery system kinda handy.

This seems like it should be a huge issue since you need these to get further into the game. Anyone find any solution yet?

Use console commands to force him to give the important quests if you still have this issue. As for the radiant ones, just cry until it doesnt hurt anymore.
