Survival: First point you can save??

I know I need to sleep in beds, but there is a bed in the vault that it says "You cannot sleep yet".

So, where the heck can I sleep? I didn't have time to do Concord, and I want to save instead of leaving the game running. I may not even have time to play tomorrow or even Sunday.

Honestly, this restriction is terrible for people who actually have lives and occasionally want to just save the darn game so they can quit with progress instead.

Make it save and quit, or save at a bed and continue. That would satisfy the needs of both player types.

Can't you leave the vault and then re-enter and sleep? The elevator is activated by a control panel/switch in the building outside the vault.

I did that. Still says "You cannot sleep yet". I'm all the way up to where the servant robot tells you to go to concord. I even have sleepy stage 1. Can't sleep.

Odd. Is there a bed anywhere in Sanctuary? If not I suppose you basically HAVE to do it [go to Concord, help MM] unless you want to start the game all over again.

Go inro the root cellar in Sanctuary, there is a bed in there.

No bed in Sanctuary. I checked. Scoured even. All are broken husks that were once beds.

Or just clear Sanctuary with codsworth and use the workbench there.

You can scrap some stuff for a bed pretty fast.

I'll have to look for it now that I know it exists.

In my other game, I have capped the town... but I never found the root cellar LOL

I haven't tried beta survival, but can't you make a bed in Sanctuary from the scrap about town?
EDIT: duh, of course vthe root cellar! That's where I always run when in town and a rad storm comes up...

Walk through Sanctuary from the bridge until you reach the roundabout.
Last house on the left, go look behind it.
There will be a door on the ground at the corner of the house, may be partitally obsucured by the undergrowth,

lol so easy to find the cellar it is behind a house lol and making beds in sanctuary is so easy.
the vault is there for only 2 reasons the start of game and oh wow that gun.

Thanks guys. Totally didn't think about the fact that I could build a bed without people. It's been a little while since I played (burnt out a little, so stopped).

I have now slept and exited.

it auto saves when you leave the vault too.

here's what I don't get
why did you a) try building a bed and if that didn't work b) build one at Red Rocket, which is RIGHT FREAKING NEXT TO IT
