Setting companion affinity?
How do I set companion affinity using console commands? I don't understand what I'm doing wrong when reading the wiki.

I went through Cait's quest and still haven't hit the romance yet and I really don't care to have her around. I want to just check her off my list and throw her away.

Take her to Fiddlers Green.
Use the terminal to lock the safe.
Pick the lock on the safe.
Quick Save.
Load the quick save.
Lather, rinse, repeat

Except if I learnt he console command I don't have to waste my time.

Do you get that? Why would I break the game the long way around when I could just use the command. Plus this helps with any future problems i'll run into.
getav ca_affinity
This gets their current affinity, note:
250 = 1st tier
500 = 2nd tier
750 = 3rd tier
1000 = final tier / romance tier

Command:
modav ca_affinity #, where you'd get it closer to the tier you're not at yet.

If you set it with console commands you still need to trigger it via anything that they would normally be happy or pissed about. Have no clue why it works like that, but it does.

It doesn't immediatly apply because the script check for companion affinity only happens when you do something they don't approve of, or raises their affinity.
Why?
Who the hell knows.

Thanks for the info. I was 870 something with her and I was reading the command wrong off the wiki.

Cheating by manipulating saves to do the same task but take 5x longer is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid. If I'm going to cheat I'll do the fast way that doesn't waste my time.

Strip down to your skivvies and the fast travel around your settlements with her as companion. Every time you enter a settlement boundary without base clothing, you get a Cait liked that.

Again why. Why do this when I can use console commands?

Why would you cheat the long way around?

There is a much simple workaround that does not cause issues :

No Negative Affinity and Affinity Cooldown mod
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3276/?

I use only NO AFFINITY COOLDOWN from that mod. You can also install SUPER BOOST which gives you max affinity with one LIKE.

Visible Companion Affinity
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10660/?

This is quite an essential mod that shows you the affinity every time they like something. You can choose whether you want it in percentage ( 0.8% and so on) or in real numbers (80 out of 1100).

If you really want to save time, just use the following command:

player.completeallquests

Why waste time playing the game?

Beause not everything is that black and white jackass. I'm done with Cait. I did her quest and I don't really have anymore use for her.

Fallout 4 has never been difficult even on harder difficulties. It's always really easy to break the game to your own purposes I want to sight see and hear the plot.

I've gone through most of the game and I only have 4 companions with max affinity. I will never complete them all unless I just spend a ♥♥♥♥ ton of time on radiant quests.

Sometimes doing all the things is asinine.

I know this is two years old. but you're kind of an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, surprised anyone helped you. Just google the console commands they are all online.

The guy I was responding to was clearly intending to insult and didn't want to help me with the question I had.

If you think I'm a bad person for pushing back you're morality is a bit skewed. Especially if your digging up 2 year old posts to tell me how bad I am.

Doesn't really excuse how passive aggressive you are in the initial responses, the first two or so responses you got weren't being that rude
