could possibly be a loose cable, and if that isnt the problem most 4k screens should have a picture test mode try running that see if it finds any issues

is it happening with any other games as well or whilst watching video's?

check to see if you have the latest drivers.

have you knocked or banged the laptop recently, maybe you have a cable loose some where inside the laptop. also worth checking your temps maybe have a build up of dust that can cause dodgy pictures.

and if you have a cable to connect to another screen to see if that works.

the reason i think its a cable causing this and not the resolution is that the wrong resolution would cause sreen tearing and not vertical/horizontal lines

it does. Sell your 4k monitor. It's useless anyways with the current gen of hardware.

could be something to do with the cables, monitor board or graphics card failing in the laptop then. is the laptop still under warranty? if so i would recomend getting in touch the manufacture and sending it back
