Survival Beta: Cannibalism
If you play the survival beta mode, do NOT become a cannibal. I did it thinking "Hey, another way to get my health up in case I run out of food." Seemed like a solid plan at first. Well, I screwed myself because now I cant eat any normal food at all. I HAVE to eat people now whenever Im hungry. I have all this food and Im dying of starvation because of course, no people around or Im in a town where I cant kill anyone or I risk agroing the whole town. Im really debating just starting the whole thing over because it is just too much. Just a warning to everyone.

Wut? I haven't played survival yet, but this doesn't make sense at all. It should be changed.

I came on to ♥♥♥♥♥ about this too. Whoever made this design choice is an idiot. You cant take human meat to eat later and getting hungry every 5 minutes means you will never have enough humans to eat. Whats the point of even having cannibalism in the game?

I had the same nasty surprise as everyone else. So far the only method I've found to get rid of the Dark Craving debuff is sleeping for 24h straight.

I think the idea of cannibalism having consequences is interesting, but it feels very poorly executed in this case. Eating another corpse to satiate the craving, only to be starving again after walking less than 30 seconds is really frustrating, especially at low levels.

Besides, there was no hint whatsoever about this in Bethesda's notes for this new mode.

It's a game setting called HC_SE_Cannibal_DarkHunger
Makes you addicted to human flesh, and screws with your hunger

It's a seperate debuff, so no.

meh it isnt available till level 22 anyways, so basically a cannibal build is pointless. I hope they just overlooked this cause it really is stupid.

agree, thanks for heads up. "heads" LOL. A better down side to canbalism should be 1) word getting around that you are - and some groups becoming 'nervious' when you visit. b) possibility of getting the brain pyron disease.. (real life).

So do people at Bethesda eat like 22 times a day?

Maybe you can take a settlement and place the recruitment radio beacon...
your food should be arriving over time.

Its not enough, when you go out to adventure you get hungry just walking around. If they made it possible to harvest meat from humans like you can every other creature then it would work.

Either way the way they have cannibal designed is not a perk, its a detriment to your character. The whole point of taking cannibal is to supplment your food supply and have a way to heal yourself that others dont. If you cant eat regular food then you are just replacing regular food with human food. Regular food heals you too, so there is literally no benefit to cannibalism, it just makes your food harder to come by. Its insanely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game design and needs to be reworked.
