Water pumps not infinite?
My water pump does not hydrate me anymore when I press 'E' my character just keeps pumping forever but my dehydration is not going away. Another pump works fine. Anyone else encountered this?

Never thought pumps actually hydrate you, they merely fill bottles/turn them into purified water.

They definitely do hydrate you.

check and besure you don't need further meds to heal any infections/illnesses you have.

Thanks for the answers, the strange thing is my other pumps work fine and I can drink from them without a problem. This pump however seems broken. Maybe just a bug?

The same happened to me in Red Rocket. I built a water pump to fill bottles and to drink from it when needed. Suddenly, my hydration level stopped recovering and no sound of flowing water can be heard when I use it, but ironically I can still fill bottles. I built another pump next to it, which works just fine.

Yeah thats my solution too.. I hope this is the end of that problem. Thanks!

Obviously there are some glitches. Another poster reported that it took 2 shotgun blasts to kill a normal (non-glowing, non legendary) Radroach. I just saw the same thing in my own game, also with a shotgun. Apparently some pumps are busted too. Thanks for telling us how to fix it.
Try storing it with tab and placing it again. That fixes most broken settlement objects.

I was having this problem & this worked for me. :)
confirmed storing the water pump and replacing it will fix the glitch, however just moving it without storing it first will not help solve the problem
