Lucas the Trader died
In Sanctuary from a legendary rad scopion, I used to buy cloth of him, so one less trader for me. Thought traders, the main ones could not die?

According to the wiki, Lucas is not essential, meaning he can die, but only by the hands of the player:

Are you sure he wasn't just incapacitated, or if was it not you who stroke him with any type of attack, like a friendly explosion?

Nope he was laying on the ground dead fully wholesome and I did not shoot him, though I did kill the scorpion.
