1) Place small steps
2) Snap small floor panels, creating a catwalk
3) Place turrets
4) ???
5) PROFIT!
Not sure if those window sill bars will affect the aim of the turrets, but looking good.
Wow. That is brilliant. Can't believe I didn't think of that myself during the time it took me to try literally every piece of furniture I could test lol
1) SW corner at the river (settlement side of the small island);
2) the path from 111 (settlement side of the creek);
3) the woods by the root cellar (east edge of the settlement).
The main issue with settlement walls and defenses is that the game frequently does not properly track player placed items, and the attackers are more likely to clip through your walls and walk right past defenses unless you are there to engage them directly. Once engaged by the player, then the defenses may kick in.
Yeah, I know, they are more for decoration than for anything else lol....besides my settlements never seem to get attacked. I probably have too many ornamental MG turrets.
I do it mostly for fun and for the piles of XP I get while doing it...makes for a nice change of pace from taking 5 minute vertibird flights across the map lol
