Nexus Mod Manager causing crash
I've been playing fallout 4 on my PC for a few months now but recently I thought I would try to add some mods to the game. I subscribed to nexus mods and downloaded the Nexus Mod Manager. As soon as I did that and added some mods the game started crashing as soon as I started it, I have deleted and redownloaded the game over and over deleted nexus mod and everything but its still crashing. Is there any way to make it work again? Or bring back just the original files from the download because everytime I redownload it, all the modded files come back.

Where did you install the files? And did you allow Steam, Steam games and NMM through your firewall as instructed? Nothing crashes a game like a firewall when something tries to call out to an external source without permission.

if you don't even know where to find your game's directory, you shouldn't be modding it.

With some good old fashioned study and a measure of intelligence, this is not impossible. Not true. The NMM makes this much easier.

if you deinstall your game it won't deinstall your mods, since they are extra added data. you can delete them manually (if you know what you're doing) or via mod manager (recommended for most mods). also you can't just put some mods in and expect everything to work. proper modding includes a lot of reading first. there may be incompatibilities between mods, or mods that rely on other mods in order to work correct. then there's stuff like load order. then there are script based mods that should stay in your current game once added, because they may mess with your save if you delete them etc.

if you don't know what i'm talking about you might want to watch some youtube modding guides or read into it, or if you don't want to sacrifice some time for the subject, you should just leave it be and enjoy the vanilla game

Use the mod manager to uninstall your mods (here's a guide to using NMM):

Then verify your game cache. Right click Fallout4 in your library, go to Properties > Local Files > Verifiy Integrity of Game Cache
