I won't argue with your timing.

That being said, when settlers get stuck in their dialogue (or I don't feel like waiting for them to finish their farming animation) I just open up the console, select them, and type "openactorcontainer 1".

Edit: ah, just saw in another thread that you're in Survival mode. Only option is to wander away and come back at some later date when they're less thankful then.

common known bug, best way to fix is to talk to another trader at another settlement then come back, at this thats how i fix it

Hmm, will try that. Thanks.

I will tell you that sleeping for several days in Survival Mode does not seem to work. I will also try the traveling to other traders and coming back. I created a new trader for clothes and that allowed me to trade with that person, but not the two traders I already had in Sanctuary Hills. I also traded with Trashcan Carla and that did not seem to help.

Possibly the most frustrating common gameplay bug that happens to me every time I play. I'm gonna start re-assigning settlers to pedaling on their Power Cycle 1000's when they glitch out like this.

console caveat --> you have to apply it to every single script-stuck npc (kinda PITA):

If i took a shot everytime i had to use that console command to fix this glitch in a Settlement focused playthrough i'd drop dead from alcohol poisoning.

In 6000 hours I have never needed to use that console command.

I usually just left the settlement and came back later.

I'm really impatient and i usually make some slight overhauls for my settlements and their services where i stop to resupply on my modded survival settlement focused runs.

And that's where this glitch rears its ugly head and is most annoying.

Epecially on settlements that for some reason have daily raider attacks .. and by raider attacks i mean 1 raider with a pipe pistol standing behind trees getting ripped to shreads by turrets everytime i arrive into a Settlement.

I swear Fallout 4 sometimes be like Wild Wasteland Perk : The Game.

Those are not actual settlement attacks. There is something that causes a few stray mobs to spawn on or near the settlement borders.

You can especially see it with Sanctuary with the one that spawn by the bridge or the ones that spawn past the root cellar.

Some settlements are also in the "attack path" of nearby random encounters. Like the spot behind Abernathy can spawn raiders or super mutants that wander out to the bridge then past Red Rocket.

Thats a different thing the issue i am talking about actually counts as settlement attack and causes "thank you for your help" glitch very often.

Its similar to the daily rust devils attack that can affect certain settlelemts with bots

Some attacks just glitch out and repeat daily it even causes some turrets or power generators to malfunction and crops to be busted often despite not being hit by anything as if you failed to defend the settlement on time.

Like i walked couple times into affected settlement and active turrets just broke and started smoking before my eyes on multipile occassions.

Weird ♥♥♥♥ happens with settlements sometimes the more i focus on them.

Automatron ignores the seven day rule for raids. That is why Once I start the quest line I finish it quickly.

That is why I use the settlement attack warning mod that turns the attack message into pop up box. Far too easy to miss the message and prevents missing messages when the message system bugs out.

This mod doesn't help with the daily raid glitch.

I had this glitch in few playthroughs.

There is no attack popup at all
Affected settlement gets daily attacks from one of the common raid enemy types which ususally but not always are low lvl raider/raiders that indeed cause settlers to constantly thank me or say "whe shown those <enemy type> a lesson" whenever these enemies get killed and causing the thank you faction glitch more frequently than usual and stuff breaks often in that settlement. I never get a warning that said settlement is affected.

Its not normal behavior or related to npcs spawning on path of a settement.
Can affect any populated often visited settlement. (Tho i never had it happen on a FH settlement)

I assume you never had it before?

Sounds similar to when I had the issue with cages triggering daily, even after scrapping the cages.
