'nuff said.
but... Will this get rid of the vanilla assault rifle? Yes, I guess I mean a texture replacer. 'cause the http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11525/? as far as I can see (haven't tried it) adds a new weapon ? Or am I just stoopid?
Nope, the vanilla weapon still is there, but the Kalash gets integrated into the weapon lists for NPC's, meaning a much lower chance of seeing the vanilla weapon.
This mod have the advantage of beeing quite balanced: it's dmg output is slightly higher than the vanilla assault rifle, but it has a lot of recoil and it's very difficult to keep sustained fire at medium range. The vanilla assault rifle has almost no recoil, and stay pinned (unrealistically) to the target.
Also its beatifull completly hand made textures don't obstruct half of the screen in first person. Many weapons in FO4 are so big that don't let you see that part of the screen and give an encumberance feel.
And finally, implementing the weapon listing in soft ways with a script, you don't have to merge with other mods to have it appear in game. If you don't understand what i'm saying no problem, it means it won't conflict with anything and it doesn't require extra compatibility work even if you want to install other guns.

Nice sell:)
I've been looking at it before, will get it.
Btw. I completely agree with you in that many weapons take up much too much of the screen. Like my awesome sledgehammer of Atom, which is cool and kicks ass, but takes up like 1/3 of the screen, with a sparkling green glow at top of that.
Bethesda seems just to sit back and wait for modders to do their job (and they have copyright on that too, you may have noticed).
