Alienware M14XR2
Is my laptop able to run fallout 4 decently? I switched from ps4 as I really would like mods and console commands.

Well when i look at the properties, it tells me Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3210M CPU @2.50 GHz 2.50GHz, 6 GB of installed RAM, 64-bit operating system.

I am not very tech savy and do not know what any of this means, thank you for looking into this to help me :)

How would I check my specs?

what are the specs. I am playing the game on ultra with an alienware. My specs are an i7, 8 gb, and a nvidia 970. So it is the specs, not the type of machine, that matters.

Alienware = overpriced dell, but besides that you have to post the specs otherwise we can't help.
If you didn't customize the hardware in it, and what's on the youtube video Park linked, then I'd say you can but it'd be very inconsistent. Your settings would have to be really low, and I doubt you'd get 60fps at all

Yeah the OP would need to sort of match those specs.

i5-3210M is an ivy bridge with intel HD 4000 integrated graphics.

If the build doesn't have a separate GPU, then no, you will not run well, or at all.

I believe it has a 650m graphics card, it's supposed to be a top of the range gaming loptop, so it shouldn't rely on Intel graphics.

Ok, that's good. Now, OP would need to get past the known compatability problems with laptop-style mixed GPU operation (going to nvidia control panel and setting it to always run FO4 on the 650M), and cross fingers that the sub-spec RAM isn't going to cause issues.

Oh, and plug it in and run power settings up to the max, so get the CPU off it's baseline settings and avoid throttling the GPU.

OP *might* pull this off. Oh, and run *nothing* concurrently with FO4, close all the browsers, programs, anything else running and maybe some of the background services too. RAM will be absolutely precious to you.

So because it was a top of the line gaming laptop 4 years ago it still holds its own nowadays? Its like saying my old 32mb Nvida gpu is top of the range because they said it was when it came out.
