do trading stands sell items from my workshop???
just set up a few trading posts in sanctuary for armor and food. Just curious..... do they sell food and apparel from my workshop or are they just passive and generate income without removing anything from my inventory/workshop etc

No they don't sell stuff from your workshop . Daily they drop caps into the workshop. You can use them to sell the junk you DON'T need that you find in the workshop. I sell lots of water. I never run out of caps that way. I outfitted all of my settlers in all my settlements with armour and better guns than just pipe pistols. But that is me.

They are like regular shop: they sell their stuff, not the stuff from the workshop. The items you sell them don't go back in the workshop, but they disappear when the shop respowns its inventory. So you can use them 100% like other shops.

Clinics are expensive to build in terms of caps and perks requirements, but tier 3 clinics have a nice 800 caps stock that refreshes every 24 hours, so they are super good to sell your stuff for caps. Also you can trade for radx and radaway if you wanna go to the glowing sea, and you have a doctor that can cure deseases, wounds, rads and addictions for few caps.

Tier 3 weapon shops don't bring happiness, but they have a nice 500 caps stock and you can "trade" ammo types with them.

So, especially in survival, it's good to have a base with few shops that make you avoid slugging to Diamond City each time.
