Finally found the cure for Dark Craving
If you're like me you tried Cannibal in Survival Mode and got stuck with Dark Craving.

*After the Beta, sleeping in a bed for a day does not cure the Dark Craving.

For some this is crippling, and in general it can hamstring gameplay. It can be a buff as you don't go through stages of hunger. You are either full, or Ravenous (when IT decides it's lunch time) with no in between unless you cause it such as with Rad-Away.

I tried finding a cure to it using Addictol, Refreshing Drink, and various other methods I could make with no effect and wasted resources. Tonight I found the cure for Dark Craving is to visit a Medic, and it's listed in the spot for Chem Addiction at 75 caps.

I really wish Bethesda just told us this kind of stuff, would cause so much less anger and frustration.

there is another cure too. One that takes less effort: sleep 24 hours. I went through the same nightmare when playing the survival beta, and a gamer on this forum told me the cure.

I have a better cure. Just don't take the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cannibilism talent.

Dark Craving RPs are fun. I Like to Sandman kill residents in Diamond City (Unnamed ones) and then feed.

That is not a cure; to wit, it is prevention by removal of the possibility to contract it.

I made the post after seeing many perscribe sleeping it off. This hasn't seemed to work since they brought it from beta. All the threads I had seen advising this had been from beta threads. So I sought to pass that information along to others with similar frustrations in their playthrough.

You're reply falls in line with this line of thinking;
I find a way to expand clip size on weapons nested in a obscure place.
I go to share how to get the expanded clips that I found.
You tell me that if I didn't like the clip size, I shouldn't use freaking guns.

Yes, I've tried sleeping for 24 hours for what ammounted to a week in in-game world time. I was starving, afflicted with Dark Craving, and had to be creative to get a raider to munch on.

A little trick i've started using is having raider cages at all of my major settlements, when it's dinner time, i open the cage and tuck in.

There's a whole classroom full of children to eat though.

No, not really. You're comparing a weapon upgrade, something that directly impacts the difficulty of combat encounters to a convenience perk that has a major drawback and is typically only used after combat has ended.

Seriously, Cannibalism is just a waste of perk points on Survival. Until you get to such a silly high level that it's the only option left to you at least and even then the cons outweigh the pros. The only real reason left to take it early is for RP reasons and if that's your bag then godspeed, but in terms of utility almost every other perk in the game is more useful, especially on higher difficulties and Survival.

It's not like food is that hard to come by.:2016bee:

Saph you say food isn’t that hard to come by and that’s why you bash on the Cannibalism perk but food has a weight like everything else so if you want have food that will actually affect your hunger bar you’re looking at 0.5 for each item or 1 pound depends on what you have while the Cannibalism perk you just have to find and human or super mutant depends on how far you go and get quite a bit of health back on top of eating once to satisfy your hunger needs it’s quite a good perk especially in survival if you can morally justify it

What's the perk I need to eat necroposts?
