Why cant Valentine wear the Silver Shroud coat without the lower half vanishing.
Why is the Silver Shroud clothes messed up on Valentine? If anyone can tell me what to do in the construction kit to fix this mess it would be appreciated. Thank you.

I tried a mod from Nexus mods and it didnt work. Maybe load order is wrong so help me to do it in the kit please. Thanks.

Hi No one has tried giving Valentine the Siver Shroud clothes other than me? I mean its like they were made for him all Humphey Bogart and everything. Yet they are messed? Unreal.

In a non-modded game, Nick can' wear any other clothes other than his base costume and I haven't seen any videos with him in anything else so I assume you can't pickpocket clothing onto him (Haven't tried myself though so not certain). Based on this I would assume (having not loked in the Geck) his character model not being human/gen 3, he isn't compatible with the clothing and armour as it was designed, hence if you force it you are having issues. This is the same reason strong can only wear specifically designed armour and the standard armour doesn't scale to fit him.

I'll admit a fair bit of this is speculation as I haven't tested it myself, but it is the most likely cause and if you want to fix it you'd need to look for someone to mod the clothing's mesh itself.

Ok. In the GECK I changed Valentine to be human. Works perfectly. He can wear any other clothes and even equips the Shadow clothes. But they are messed up and the coat doesnt render properly for some odd reason. He reminds me of Humphrey Bogart and so the Shadow clothes were made for him.

I have a mod that allows bring Cait and Piper with me and I was hoping to bring Valentine also. This is really a minor annoyance but one I was hoping to solve by asking on here.

Because he's not a human? I'm not talking about some philosophical debate about sentience, I mean - literally - his model is not "human" and likely has its own rigging that's incompatible with all the other clothes that have been rigged for humans. Just changing his type won't fix that, you need to re-rig every item of clothing you want him to wear to be compatible.

The synth body is completely identical to the human body as far as rigging is concerned.

Edit: I actually had it backwards. Nick's arm is part of his Race, but no other clothing has an approapriate mesh that's "missing" an arm.

If you forced him into any other you'd find his hand suddenly has skin again, among other Nicl-specific details being janky.

Is Nick's body even a standard synth body? His model and textures are completely unique, plus he doesn't have a "nude" synth body from what I recall so the trench coat and hat are part of his body's rigging.

If you open the creation kit you can remove his outfit.

His outfit however is the only one that will display his arm correctly (it doesn't even show properly when he's naked), because the outfit uses "gloves" to hide the hands. When you put him in a different outfit can actually look inside his newly skinned hand and find the skeletal part still there, unlike his left hand, which always had skin.

The concept is similar to this mod:
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/38029/?

Just that it uses a special clothing to remove the Human arm, rather than a race that has the arm built on.

Huh, didn't know that. I assumed they just baked the unique trenchcoat model onto him since it's the only outfit he wears and never goes naked (well, I'm assuming, don't know what Ellie's into behind closed doors).

Yeah, well if you ever wanted to see nick naked:

I guess we can call him Buck Ni-ked.

Thanks for the replies. With the construction kit Nick is human and works fine with all other clothing no problems. Just the Shadow clothes the bottom of the jacket vanishes.

Any easy fixes for this anyone knows? A hint even? :)
