This game is so good. Why all the bad reviews?
I see so many bad reviews, but this game is so addictive. I bet those who give it a bad score can't even stop playing.

Ppl that like to say that FO4 is not a real RPG are a bunch of idiots. It`s true that i can die or i can kill things as fast as a normal fps game, but the level progression is still here. So the RPG core is still here overall.

I play on survival mode and the fact that i must rest to save makes this game feel even better for me.

I only have a few mods, a very few mods. Without them, the game would feel just as good. It`s not like skyrim where i feel like i must have a lot of mods to make it feel good.

My only complain so far is some glitches. Since i can`t Quick-save everywhere on survival, i can get stuck and be forced to load my game.
I once tried to use a Terminal and my character got stuck while trying to auto-direct himself to it. I got stucked in a static box and i had to reload after that.
In the first quest to kill the Death Claw, the thing magically appeared from below to the top right beside me while i was looking for it with my power-armor.

The Vats and AP are so balanced for me. If i sprint, i will have less vats. If i don't sprint at all, i can save it for Vats. So mean, after using vats entirely, if i have no cover,t he remaining enemies can easily kill me after-wards.
I like the dog so much. He is so useful, but he gets in the way a lot tho.

It`s also too bad that i can't seem to receive any achivement with the mods i have from the Nexus mod Manager.

Any game will have its fair share of bad reviews, no matter how well put together it is, and the fact that the game was overly hyped and didn't meet peoples expectations is what caused people to give it a negative review.

The fact that this game has my absolute highest playtime on my account and Im still playing it is a testament to how much I love this game. And I pretty hard to please in terms of gaming.

Bad reviews are because people were expecting Fallout 3 2. Same happened with The Elder Scrolls Online. People were expecting Skyrim Online.

'Cuz it's a pretty bad game. The Dialogue wheel and voiced protagonist combined to give us by far the most dumbed-down conversations in the Fallout series. The leveling system is another major step backwards as you can now become good at everything, whereas in the past you'd have to pick your strengths and weaknesses. Everything about Power Armor: they're too common, available too early, Bethesda broke lore by giving Fusion Cores a 15 minute lifespan even though they were stated to be able to last for centuries in previous series...probably in a vain attempt to balance the fact that Power Armor is too common and available too early. We have a ghoul kid live for a couple centuries in a fridge even though previous games of the franchise established that they must eat and drink like normal humans. And it's not a real RPG since the storyline is extremely linear and most of the quests are simply kill, loot, and return, the only choices you get to make are at the end of the storyline. These are only the first handful of reasons that come to mind. There are plenty of reasons why many people find this game lackluster and will give Fallout 5 a pass most likely.

Besides the poor choice mechanic and overall rpg aspect, the game pretty much excels over the over games, it's pretty hard to really say that any other feature is "bad";
The animations are better
The AI is better, and they actually work in groups and find cover
Believe it or not, the lip syncing is actually kind of better, but at times the game fails to catch up and has delayed lip syncing

Really, the only thing that fallout 4 failed in was the choice mechanic, the rpg aspect, and the fact that the dlc has been questionable and that they had the balls to board up houses.

That and they did dumb down the ways you can affect the world and the RPG elements.

But thats no reason to ♥♥♥♥ on this game imo.

Just cause its not as good as what New Vegas did doesnt make it a bad game. ♥♥♥♥ on bad games for being bad games and point out the flaws in good games. From what Im seeing in the review section is people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the game for the problems.

Im all for that but i that reall enough to flat out give this game a DONT BUY AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE attitude? NO!

For all the problems this game has, it improves on other areas. Yes the story is kinda uninteresting at the start, yes the RPG elements are dumbed down, yes skills are gone. They do bring the experience down. But to say the game is bad to the point it doesnt warrant a purchase cause of that? Well ♥♥♥♥ you then.

This is not GOTY material, but its still a DAMN GOOD GAME, and a DAMN GOOD GAME IT IS!! All the people saying that the game is bad are just either really dissapointed or ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiots.

There, I said my piece.

rant over/
I love it, but being a fan of something means you should also be critical of it rather than blindly loving it. It's a VERY soft-core RPG compared to its predecessors especially 2 and New Vegas. The lack of dialogue choices, lack of choices in how to resolve manners OTHER than violence, the lack of meaningful weapon upgrades other than just damage boosts, and the fact that I cannot roleplay anything BUT a worried parent really diminishes the RPG elements of the game (at least the wRPG elements, jRPGs are different).

Difficulty and level progression really aren't very RPG element, but more standard video-game stuff.

Idk I think its as much RPG as the witcher 3...

Let's face it, none of these games were that perfect or true RPGs. As someone stated somewhere else, I forget where, they are mere proof of concept that the modders work on and expand.

I don't remember the last time I played a Bethesda game without any mods.

Thats kinda pushing it tbh. Yeah the RPG elements are still there, but not on the level of previous Fallout games.
