Odd Enemy-Spawning Behaviour
I played about 300 hours of Fallout 4 prior to Automatron, Workshop and Far Harbor DLC launching and never had this problem I am experiencing. However ever since upgrading to the new DLC (i have the season pass so it installed itself automatically) and continuing my survival (beta) character I've noticed my spawns are really really bizarre.

Example: I'll be walking south along the road near The Slog / the Forge factory; suddenly gunners spawn right down the road. Moments later, a horde of Automatron enemies spawn near by, sometimes followed by a horde of stingers behind me. (This is just an example, enemy types may vary.)

This seems to be a pattern, one group spawns in front of me followed by another spawn behind me. Consistently almost without fail, especially around certain spawn points. It seems to "trigger" for lack of a better word.

Needless to say, playing on Survival is hard enough but this makes it nigh impossible to get from point A to point B without constantly dying.

I'm only running a handful of mods, mostly gameplay tweaks and the Unofficial Patch by Arthmoor & Co.

Here is my mod list(sorted with loot):

GameMode=Fallout4 Fallout4.esm DLCRobot.esm DLCworkshop01.esm DLCCoast.esm Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch.esp Lots More Beards and Moustaches.esp Lots More Male Hairstyles.esp Lots More Female Hairstyles.esp WRVR.esp AtomicRadio.esp SOS_SleepOrSave.esp keyNuker.esp keyNuker_DLC01.esp keyNuker_DLC03.esp Power Conduits and Pylons - Increased Radius.esp DarkerNights.esp DarkerNightsDetection.esp DarkerNights-FarHarbor.esp Durable Vehicles x4.esp Fr4nssonsLightTweaks.esp SkjAlert_All_DLC.esp Arbitration - Recommended Core.esp Arbitration - Better Combat AI.esp Arbitration - Reduced Grenade Spam.esp Arbitration - Stealth Overhaul.esp

Note: I just added arbitration and this problem precedes that mod therefore it cannot be responsible.

Thanks in advance.

It's normal, i have noticed in the 100+ hours of play since upgrading with both dlc's, that the rate of triggering random encounter's at all random encounter trigger area's have increased, and there are more trigger area's then before. That specific are you mentioned near the slog is a nightmare even in non survival, half the time you gotta deal with the 9+ forged attacking the prrovisioners and boston caravans which somehow pull the threat of all the slog settlers, and then right next to that bridge happens to be an overpass with gunners, not to mention on the other side of the road is a nest of bugs, and then the area with the river next to slog has a deathclaw / robot pack / rust devils / raiders with missle launchers high percentage spawn rate random encounter.

If you are high level that's the deal..

I have fallout4 with season pass. But still vanilla version. Random encounter was sh!tty and im level 107 in survival. Guess its time to mod the game

Dang. Are you guys serious? I find it incredulous that this is how it is; I believe you guys but still this is nuts! I can understand a couple of tough spawns but I'm literally getting swarmed as I fight one enemy and suddenly realize there's more behind me or ahead of me.

FWIW in my original vanilla playthrough, I am certain this kind of thing (sudden spawns triggering) never happened to me; that character (also playing on survival) got up as high as level 70 give or take and spawns seemed much mor reasonable, in line with Fallout 4's predecessors Skyrim and Fallout 3.

But this current situation is really putting a dent in my enthusiasm. I really hope either Bethesda fixes this or a mod eventually does cause it really sucks thinking "Hey I'm doing well!; i can do this!" only to have a legendary sentry bot appear out of thin air and end my run before I can save.

It looks like I'm just going to have to running for the hills more often.

Thanks everyone for the responses!
nuka mines and stealthboys, always try to aim to get those two items, on hand at all times, 3 stealthboys and 8 nuka mines, bottlecap mines if you have demo, because you never know when you need to stealth out of there and leave a trail of death for pursuers

You really should add War of the Commonwealth.

I like the easy, casual game play. For me, however, that is being spoiled by this spawning of multiple attackers anywhere and everywhere. What makes it worse is that there will be no one there, and I watch for enemies a lot, then suddenly I am being attacked all around and my character winds up dying. This doesn't matter what level my character is at the time.
I think Fallout 4 needs way more work NOW! It is not fun anymore.

I know how you feel. Couple weeks back I was escorting Riley From Longneck Lukowski's had cleared the Hub Junkyard, the Forged at Saugus, and was on the home stretch to County Crossing when a pack of robots appeared at a random encounter location behind me and three of them laser heads was like instant death.

should the game spawn unpiloted power frames that i can steal as they belong to the gunners? like 1 straight in a table as this doesnt make sense

I'm only level 27 but I find myself taking alternate roots because random spawns are always up.
