Any legit way of lowering agility for special book?
I want to be able to boost it to 12 with bobblehead for bonus ap.

try typing "player.setav agility x" where x=the number you want to set your agility in the console.

Using modav sets the number but it's not actually the number. It's kind of like taking a chem that temporarily raises a stat. I know it works to set the number higher, but not sure if it will set it lower

Only by using the console you can do it.

Its impossible without the console unless you want to restart the character.

Because there's nothing in the game that allows you to respec your character.

EDIT: If there was one i would tell you but there is not.

I think you are confused. My current char have 10 agi. I am looking for a debuff to lower it to 9 so the special book can be used for it, and bumping it to 11 once the debuff fades. Like drinking any booze to lower int with 1, allowing you to use the special book on int even if you have 10 int. But reputely addictions doesnt work for this, has to be some other debuff.

X buff addiction certainly reduces AGI by one, there may be more.

EDIT - Wiki to the rescue.
Calmex addiction reduces AGI by 2 points.
Alcohol addictions recues by 1
Jet by 1
Med x by 1

Apparently with a few chem addictions reducing it by 2 points shouldn't be difficult at all!

I might be wrong, but I don't think there are chems that actually respec the character. They can lower it and raise it but the new number will be in parenthises with a + x or - x next to it. To truly change the actual number, the console is the way to go.

You are wrong. It is possible to use day tripper with 10 strengh to gain an extra point from SPECIAL book. Same goes for other chems, alc and addiction.

Try read what im saying. Im not talking about respecs. Goal is to cause a temporary debuff to allow use of the special book to reach 11 in a stat, then bobblehead on top for a natural 12.

What in the f is this

Bethesda tries to simplify their leveling mechanics from running into corners all day and their solution is to debuff yourself so you can magically get stronger from reading a children's book

console only

I screwed up on the charisma bobblehead and book btw so am only able to get 30 settlers instead of 32 at settlements, no big deal.

i dont see how you get charisma 22 legit to achieve 32 settler limit...and when you have 22 CHA how the bloody hell you move settlers? i tried moving and the settlement is greyed out (with buffs on)

think about, all you need is temp buffs from clothing and drugs. Then you can go crazy in a settlement and send everyone in a settlement to another settlement to boost their numbers while your charisma is inflated.

10 charisma on perk window gives ya 20 settlers, add clothes, grape mentats, bobblehead and special book and you get 32
