Sending campanions to far harbor vea dismissal in commonwealth.
So i sent piper to far harbor vea through dismissal in commonwealth to dalton farm. i have been in far narbor for a few days and she doesn't show up in the farm and the settler system counters her as the through the map screen and auto assigned tasks like farming for food.

my question is this bugged or does it take a long time for campanions to travel to far harbor by foot?

can anyone help?

From what I've seen, companions can't actually travel to non-Far Harbor locations while you're in Far Harbor. It causes them to get stuck on the docks or walk into the ocean and get stuck against an invisible wall. Trying to dismiss a companion to a location in the Commonwealth while you're in Far Harbor is a bad idea.

If you have access to the debug console, then you can summon Piper to your location using the console. Otherwise, you'll either need to reset to an earlier save from before you dismissed her, or you'll need to walk around the Far Harbor area a bit to see if you can figure out where she got stuck.

Sorry. But yeah, unfortunately it's very common for settlers and companions to get stuck on random objects when you send them from one settlement to another. It's even worse when you try to send them between Far Harbor and the Commonwealth.

I once "lost" both Piper and Dogmeat when sending them from Sanctuary to Red Rocket. I eventually tried just walking from Sanctuary to Red Rocket and back, and quickly discovered that they had both gotten "caught" on a stop sign on one side of the road. It was very silly.

If you're willing to jump through some hoops, you can install one of the user-made mods that re-enables the debug console, just so you can figure out where your companion ended up.

I would but i will not lose as much time if i just go back a save maybe 30min lost. I would add the mod but i'm trying to work through it vea the base game first without the use of mods. then if the game is still appealing ill use mods to add ♥♥♥♥.
Thanks again

If you want to transfer companions, take each one with you when you go between commonwealth / far harbor, and then dismiss them to the settlement ya want

Like I took Old Longfellow with me to red rocket and dismissed him and it worked.

This is untrue... I sent the new companion to Sanctuary Hills from Far Harbour and he's sitting there harvesting food humming to himself.

how long did it take for the campanion to move to the other map?

It sounds like you got lucky, then. Or perhaps other people have just been unlucky, because I've seen multiple reports of people "losing" companions when they try to send people between Far Harbor and the Commonwealth. It even happened to me, once.

When I attempted to dismiss MacReady from Far Harbor to my base at Red Rocket, he just ended up walking into the ocean. I eventually found him floating around in the ocean, stuck on a random object.

Dunno, I did all of the DLC in one go and only went back to Sanctuary Hills early in the game to lay off all my junk and excess gear/materials until I got my settlement in Far Harbour. Never took specific notice of Longfellow until I finished the DLC.

Sometimes I did notice that some companions would go straight back to their original locations(Where you picked them up) as opposed to Sanctuary Hills but this has happened in the base game. The DLC kind of ruined performance for me and I've had a lot of bugs happen, more so than I had in the 150 hours of the base game previous to Far Harbour's release. Needless to say, the DLC brought it's fair share of ♥♥♥♥ ups. Try checking Piper's home and see if she's there... or you could try that mod that shows you where your companions are on the map. I forget what it's called but there's one out there so you can check for sure to see where the companion went.
