Inb4 someone tells me it's part of a quest - how do I get that quest?

it's part of the Acadia synth quests

related to Cog, but he will only talk to you about it after certian other quests are completed and characters talked *IN A CERTAIN WAY*

Is there really anything good in it? I'm curious, but honestly all chests are just a random assortment of ammo and one or two random guns.

There may be an invisible timer, following the completion of the Storage Drive quest. I couldn't get the quest from Cog after first completing the quest, but when I returned about a day later he approached me with the quest.

And the reward is a legendary Synth chestplate that grants you a +3 bonus to all SPECIAL attributes when you're at 25% or less health.

You can say something about an end of dungeon steamer trunk that was locked. He responds that he knew nothing of that.

when you wait 24 hours Cog wants to see you and asks if you did a drive recovery mission from Faraday. Talk to June to trigger the mission.

Also for the reward it can be either a crippling sledgehammer or an unyielding synth chest piece .

1. This is the #1 Google result even now eight years later for this topic. It should remain active to prevent confusion. Anyone who disagrees should never complain about anyone not searching before asking a question that's already been answered.
