Faction quests sending me to Far Harbor
First off this is not my first play through (have over 300 hours total in the game) and I have the season pass so therefore I do have Far Harbor. In previous play throughs when doing faction quests, the places they sent you to would be in the Commonwealth. Now it occasionally wants to send me to Far Harbor. PROBLEM! I have not even gone to Diamond City yet and therefore have not even met Valentine to get the case files to even go to Far Harbor. The quest I'm working on right now, Randolph Safe House #2 wants to send me to Aldersea Day Spa. Why the heck do they even need me to clear a building on some island in Maine? I will eventually be able to finish it but it will be a very long time. This would totally suck for players who don't have Far Harbor and would therefore never be able to join that faction involved. I had to look it up online to even findout where the place was at. Tried reloading, several times, but it still wants to send me to this same place. OK thanks rant off.

You (obviously) don't get that quest location if you don't have Far Harbor...

Perhaps if you uninstall the dlc for now?
The game would not know you have it.

sounds like a bug to me

I JUST had this happen and was curious if anyone else had it happen to them. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=695326902
I'm not visiting Far Harbor until I finish with everything I'm willing to do in the Commonwealth, but you can probably do what I do when quests are won't turn in or become too buggy to even finish. Check the wiki for the commands to force the quest as complete, but I'd do a hard save priror to it just in case something messes up.

The players that do not have Far Harbor will not get said variation of the quest cause they do not have Far Harbor.

....Rocket science.

Hopefully someone will create a mod that will prevent the radiant quests fromsending you to locations you haven't been to yet - like a similar mod for the Thief's Guild and Companion's in Skyrim.

Same thing would happen in Skyrim. Radiant quests would sometimes send you to Solstheim.

For quite a few radiant quests it is a bit silly. Fetching technical documents from that far away isn't implausible (if we suppose that the BOS has heard rumors of rare technical knowledge over there, at least) but it is unlikely that Randolph Safehouse would be terribly concerned about threats over there at least until the main quest is resolved.

County Crossing in the Commonwealth says a pack of feral ghouls have holed up nearby and they need me to go clear them out before the ghouls start wandering too close. Where did they send me? To Eagle's Cove Tannery in Far Harbor.
How do ghouls, miles away on a different island, pose any threat to you??? These radiant quests are getting dumb. The radiant quests in Skyrim was okay. You have to retrieve so and so from this and that dungeon. That makes some sense. But to be scared that ghouls on a completely different island might wander too close to you? Clearly Bethesda can't even remember what kind of radiant quests they have in their own game.

* Spoiler alert *

Old topic, but just in case somebody runs into a similar problem:

The sergeant at Cambridge Police Station just assigned a mission to clean out Eagle Cove Tannery. The icon is off the map. When I get "close" I end up with two parents and a missing daughter. The actual icon sits on a small boat next to their house. Nothing happens, just like with the immortal magician in the mirror house.

FO4 is nice but bugged.

( Edit, the boat becomes accessible after you found leads about the missing daughter. Since the Cambridge Station missions are not related to this boat nor the owners it is pretty confusing. In order to unlock the island, go to the north east corner, ask the couple questions, search for clues. )

There's mod on nexus that patches this issue
Making all radiant quests stay in the commonwealth

Yes, but I believe the OP has the DLC, but no chance or wish to there any time soon, which is not an unusual issue.
Anyway, the Randolph missions are not all that important and can be postponed. When doing RR quests, focus on the Jackpot quests, because they provide the better armor mod. Finish Randolph anytime between Far Harbour becomes accessible and whenever you wish to waste these Synthlovers.

Not a bug at all. You only get access to the boat after you have agreed to find their daughter and figured that she went to some place far North, which all makes perfect sense.

I would not recommend that. The game obviously scipts this quest some time ahead (hence it will not change on reload of your last save). Deleting the location from the game might well cause unwanted results.

Apparently a mod can be used to prevent this from happening.
But keep in mind that you can go to Far Harbor any time you feel like going there (as long as you have the DLC) even without Valentine in tow with you.
