Is the T-60 variant of power armor too favored?

Simply put, T-60 is the only variant of power armor that has legendary parts. Comming with enough parts to construct a full suit from them.

Doubly so when you realize that while you are iron man, your standard armor is suppressed, offering no benefits at all. Meaning you pretty much have to try to maximise the benefits of wearing power armor or gimping yourself.

The most telling example being going from 18 strenght to a mere 12 strenght in power armor, because all my strenght armor was disabled.

BoS Quest rewards can yield a t60 helm and chest that increases AP recharge and lowered ap costs in vats. If you rank up with the bos, you can buy t-60 legs that increases AP recharge speed and reflecting melee damage. Finally Ives in automatron, have chest and arms that increases energy damage for the taking.

Id really love to use X01 due to the looks, but it doesnt really seem to be worth it, considering what you are giving up for it for it in stronger mods on the armor.

It is possible to add legendary armor effects to power armor by using the console, if you really want to.

I have X01 PA with titanium plating and Railroad ballistic weave Mk-vi. 320 helmet 420 torso... I don't even use it. Oh and Summer Shorts 110dmg Trilby hat 110 you can wear armor bits with those.

Now that the creation kit is out, it won't be hard to make a mod that adds naturally generating legendary power armor pieces. Just as it wont be hard to have raiders spawn with higher tier power armor.

If I make the mod myself then you wont get all the effects. I'll disable the ones that duplicate power armor mod effects. So things like chameleon, freefall, acrobat, and powered will not be available as well as safecracker because you can't pick locks in power armor anyway. But, if it would be possible, I would make it so you can get damage altering legendary effects like plasma infused on your gloves and they actually work with melee and fist weapons.

There is a legendary T-51 piece and a legendary Raider piece. Just saying.

As for the T-60 being favored though? It's favored mostly due to it being an icon of the series, and due to the Brotherhood using it the most, and since the Brotherhood is probably the most famous faction... Ye'h.

I for one don't really care for it. My personal favorite is T-51.

I pick locks in power armor just fine. Some terminals won't let you hack them in power armor but that is because there is a chair in front of them and you can't sit in power armor.

You can sneak in power armor. So you could probably sit. The guy in the intro vid is sitting while wearing power armor. You just need a reaalllly strong chair.

No. There is no too favored, too used, too overpowered, too anything. It's a game and people have preferences. Stop looking for ways to define a game by things such as this. You've been playing too many multiplayer games where everything has to be regulated so no one is having any more fun than someone else.

No. Just a me thing apparently. I just get little notifications saying I can't do that in power armor when I try. I knew it probably wasn't supposed to happen, but then again my computer isn't supposed to run the game anyway so I expect some things to go wrong. Just like when I played fallout 3 and wasn't able to reload the combat shotgun. Things get weird when your system can't run this engine right.

Chill. The OP was just pointing out the fact that T-60 has a complete set of legendary pieces while T-45 and X-01 have none. And T-51 has only one.

This happens. I'm not sure why it happens with some consoles and not others yet as I haven't paid enough attention to figure it out. But I do know what you're talking about. There are terminals where there is no chair or anything and it still tells me I can't do that in power armor.

With the seriously limited options for legendary power armor pieces, t-60 simply has the most options to tailor legendary bonuses while retaining the style. A factor made important by the fact as I pointed out, that using power armor suppresses your normal armor bonuses while ironman.

But ive heard some blabber that underarmor like the vault suit still counts, even when powerarmored. Can anyone confirm that?

T-60 is easier to maintain than X-I while been almost as good. But honestly, i think Bethesda wanted the new T-60 serie to be a true star of the game.
Personaly i am happy with my full legendary T-60 made of 3 BoS legendary parts and 3 legendary tesla parts.
