Fallout4.ini
Fallout4Custom.ini
Fallout4Prefs.ini
Made it playable without crashing. I'm not wasting my time reinstalling something that is not the issue.
i tried your method to...
i was moding my game and these files had to be changed for mods.
what i did was just puting those files out of the directory/rename/ even puted fresh same files in.
that didnt helped me. =(
and i know what you mean with not reinstalling that has not the issue... i still bought new games and installed them and did other work, everything worked perfekt. but not fallout 4
DUDE! You are awesome... i had the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ prob just a sec again x_x
i took the interface folder out of the data fallout4ini and could load and start ♥♥♥♥
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I'm not really surprised to see such a big deal made out of this. Your insta crashes or not opening on a modded game for Fallout or TES is most always your menu folders which holds your hud elements and menu stuff throughout the game. Mid game freezes are usually scripted mods that are probably not in the right load order or a overwrite not done correctly when installing your mod.
Just wait until mods hit the consoles you will see these types of issues 100xs with all the kids trying to mod their games and blaming everything and screaming and kicking about how Bethesda sucks etc. etc... how everything in life is a fail except them because they couldn't follow directions when modding.
new fix here... new probs there
im sorry
If that didn't help just remove the data folder and verify caché, but be careful. It's extremely risky as your save is going to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and some textures are going to change modules for some weird reason, in one of my save games the camp-beds or whatever they are called, changed textures with the Sole Survivor(You).
worked for me domo arigato
I have no mods installed.
(and also, my 4:3 screen is not accepted for full screen. I tried windowed mode and fiddling with my fallout4prefs.ini in order to have 4:3 fullscreen. Both situations crash.)
edit:
config i7, 16Gbram, ssd , gtx680.
The "(re)move 3 ini files" trick does not work for me.
