Help with a Graphics Glitch - Red Textures Obstructing the Screen
For quite some time, I have been having a graphical problem in Fallout 4 where my screen will be obstructed by a red (a blood / gore?) texture. I do have some custom content installed (mostly performance mods / bugfixes), but I have had this problem since before I installedmods, so that can't be the cause of it. (I actually started using mods in an attempt to fix this problem!)

Having never made use of Steam forums before, I'm not entirely sure how I should upload screenshots. I have linked the url to a few that I took, to illustrate the problem:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=687872942
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=687872957

I've had this problem for a while, and I haven't figured out how to solve it. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Fallout 4 and verifying the integrity of the cache files, but that didn't fix the issue. I tried googling solution, with no luck. If anybody here could perhaps give me some advice, I would very much appreciate it.

I've been having the same issues, haven't experienced them in Far Harbor yet but I also haven't gibbed as much. I can't really offer any resolution but hopefully the fact that you're not alone is comforting.
BTW, for reference I'm using a HD 7770 (AMD) and an FX 8320 (AMD) and all my settings are on lowest possible.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. I haven't started playing Far Harbor, but I do notice that this glitch tends to pop up especially in areas around Super Mutants, or a lot of ghouls (with their limbs in pieces); most of what I have explored north of the urban regions (Boston & Cambridge) seem to remain free from this glitch.

I'm making use of a AMD Radeon R9 270, in case that should prove helpful.

It'd be interesting to know if any Nvidia users are encountering the same problem?

Does it only happen when you are in power armor? Do you have the power armor helmet mod installed that makes living things glow red? (forgot the name of it)

In my instance no,
I haven't noticed it whilst wearing power armour but then again I barely use it.

I don't have a power armor helmet mod, and it also happens to me when I am out of power armor.

Oh well there goes that idea. Then sorry I have not a clue. Hope someone can help you out.

Can you check what driver version you're on?
Whilst this may not be the solution since I did mention I haven't really gibbed anything since I installed these newer drivers, but I currently have:

Radeon Software Version
16.4.2

Driver Packaging Version
16.15.2401-160415a-301762E

Radeon Settings Version
2016.0415.1636.28043

Try updating maybe?

having same problem
do you have any mods?

The same thing is happening here too. Here's the info I can add;
1. No mods installed at all (though that might come later if we get this fixed)
2. Power armor makes no difference.
3. Seems to be related to camera direction when it pops up.
4. Changing zones helps very rarely.

Running:
Win 7 Home Premium SP 1 64 Bit
AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series - Driver 13.251.0.0

I suspect the card is the issue but things run fine otherwise.

The latest driver for that card is Crimson ReLive Edition 17.2.1, I can't gaurentee it'll fix it.
I was using a HD7770 when having this problem but I can't remember if I got it fixed or not before getting a new card.

I've got a solution, maybe not the best one but it does work - I built a new gaming rig for Mass Effect Andromeda. Presto, problem solved!
