In the F.H introduction Jared Gresham died in the unspoilerific battle that you have early on.

Am I going to miss out on a potential named settler/weapon/secret?
or is he just some one not to care about?

No, if he survives he goes and stands next to your boat and says he's leaving on the next boat, after being out of town for a while he wasn't there. Only thing you've missed out on is him telling you good job I guess.

Ok thanks, clearly not worth a restart then.

Although, I would be interested to see if he ends up milling around somewhere in the commonwealth like diamond city or a random encounter.

It would have been annoying if I gave away the ending (not that I am there yet) so not quite the same but meh... edited the title and spoiler tagged as you pointed it out
