I've had some other trouble getting the 'hint' to pop on some items. Broken extinguishers don't pop the hint and can't be picked up at times...
Things have crept in since the DLC's got released....m'eh.
Bare in mind it may deactivate achievments, but I'm not 100% on this.
Yes I blasted caps, but it's becoming a well-known bug that on the way out you get an 'infinite' ride, with the ony recourses being to console coc somewhere, or to reload.
I hadn't, last save was before I'd even made it a third of the way into the mystery quest, so I had to get creative to find a cell name to transport to that wouldn't take me off the island.
EDIT: And only modding disables achievements, I've consoled constantly and have all mine. Well, the ones I was willing to get... my 600 hours are on a single '3 faction' playthrough.
So, how did you trigger the quest? I mean I can access dead robot room in the way you did...
From what I remember, I turned collision off, walked into the room with the dead robot, and then turned collision back on while walking around the place, which triggered the quest, I remember trying to talk to Maxwell first, but he didn't say much so I kept walking back into the middle room and around the area, talking to however I could, and it worked that way.
Hope that helps if you're still trying to do it.
It alerts me when someone writes on here, can't believe it's been a year, also can't believe this is still an issue. Guess they'll never patch the thing.
Turning collision off is the only thing that worked for me. I'm assuming by stuck, you mean you were following her to the Vault and she isn't walking anymore or something similar, so hopefully you have an earlier save from before you talked to her.
If not, then maybe by heading down the elevator and to the vault by yourself can stil trigger it, if not by hitting it, then by turning the collision off and walking through it (making sure you talk to the things inside which should trigger it)
Trying to activate the door with gun drawn bugs it out, and you can't activate it all after that.
