Stuck Trying to open Vault 118 (Far Harbor)
Not sure if anyone has a fix for this yet, as I remember it being common with Fallout 4, but It won't let me push the button required to open the Vault door. It plays the animation, but the covering doesn't release like it should. Anyone find a fix other than turning collision off?

It opens as part of a quest, not free roam.

Yeah I'm doing that quest right now, and it led me down to Vault 118, which I can't seem to open.

Supposed to be a guy who opens it on the other end when the robot tells them to let us in.

Oh really? if you mean the robot that led me to this place, She told me to get in the elevator, but she she never got in with me. Maybe I'll head back up and see if she'll get in this time.

Ok, she came down with me this time, and she told me to speak to the guy on the other end, But of course she says "to speak to him, push the button" so I'm still stuck. Thought we had it there for a second.
I was actually just exploring when i saw the outside of the vault entrance with the truck on top of it, i explored the hotel full of ghouls and then found the vault entrance, used the pipboy on the console and got a voice coming over the intercom asking if i was the detective they requested, i had no clue wtf was going on, i just said yes and boom the robot opens the vault for me, i never had any robot find me and bring me down there.....

That's where I'm stuck, when I use the Pip Boy on the console, the case that's blocking the button doesn't lift up, so when I try to push the button, I end up pushing the case and nothing happens.
to reloading a different save or something, maybe go back to before finding the robot that lead you there, and just explore it on your own terms, btw imo it's a waste of time, there one quest in there, bout 700exp for my lv22 character, and then you can score like 900 prewar money which is just worthless. There is some produce and heaps of robots you could be evil and choose to kill afterwards, there's one shop keep has junk, ammo, meds for sale, thats about it.

Ok, to anyone still reading this who might be having the same issue, I couldn't find another way around this, so just turn collision off and walk through both the Vault door, past Maxwell and through the other door on the right, head into the center area where the robot is on the floor, and it'll trigger the quest.

i had the same problem too, i ended up figuring out the fix. you have to reload a previous save and then activate the 118 vault door console when prompted to with no gun drown. i seen that my guy went to try to enable the console but wouldn't and then nothing would happen, i ended up reloading the save quite a few time before i figured this out, luckily i had enough fore site to save just before trying to activate the console, like the one guy said, vault doors have a tendency to bug out.

You have to walk through all the floors of the hotel and fight ghouls you will eventually come across 2 elevators that work, 1 to the surface, 1 to the vault

Yeah that's what I did, went down that elevator that leads to the vault. The problem was with the vault button not opening correctly and I couldn't push it. Happened to me in the main game as well.

Ah ok yeah I didn't do that but that's ok, it worked anyway after I used collision. Good to know for another playthrough.
