Cannot get to the Nakano residence

when i get there it says "you cannot go that way", help!

stay on the ground definitely do not try to get on the upper stretch of highway! if you run into 'you cannot go that way' simply head east at that point and follow the marker on your pip boy. you will eventually see the house. oh and it is above where the map oficially ends on the pip boy

Head toward your map marker. if u not got map marker, visit Diamond city detectives, go pipboy and select the quest.

I now figured out that if you disable all mods it´ll let you through

Ok, so this is kind of the solution, after looking FOREVER for what the issue was you saying a problem with the mods made me do some digging, I disabled all mods, the game re-loaded, I then exited the game, went into Nexus mod manager and looked at the active pluggins, noticed the plugin for Far Harbor was not checked, so I checked it, re-enabled my mods and it allowed me to go through after that

weird when i disabled all mods it disabled the dlc but still allowed me to pass

OK... I figured out the confusion. When I first logged in, it showed the place on my map where the Homestead SHOULD be located, in a small inlet on the shore within eyeshot of Coastal Cottage. Then I did some stuff and looked again, and the marker for it was now off the map up North and the place it SHOULD be is still empty... It's a bug, apparently. I have no mods or mod manager installed ATM either. ....waiting on a patch now...

Just follow the coast line north. Doesn't effect mods or be effected by mods, don't go inland that still has the main game limits.(road or fence line)

I'll give that a go, though my map and one I saw online show the initial stop, the Homestead as being ON the map. Hell yes, then! Thank you, Kelvy. I just walked around the cliff on the water's edge, past some ferals and a glowing one out on a rock and there were some plank walkways and steps and lo and behold! STAY TO THE SHORE!
