Automatron Questline Broken!!
Hy all i have a big problem maybe someone here knows a solution. First of all my current save has more than 100h playtime and im not willing to start a new game.

So after installing and activating this new dlc i got the caravan signal, than i could continue the quest until ada leads you to a factory full off robots where one big guy has a component that Ada was supposed to interact with and this is where my trouble starts.

I killed the guy looted everything and spoked than to Ada nothing happend, than i realised this stuff with the component and i thought ok maybe she must loot, interact or whatever with the boss first. So i killed him again and tryed to command her to loot the boss (she should loot the robobrain the quest says) but no again. Than i did a bit of research and found out that you can finish a Quest via console if something is bugged. So i could finish the Quest via console but than nothing happend, i got no workbench, no possibility to create bots and no new Quest from the Questline.

Thx to my research i allready found a site where i can see all Quest Ids and that stuff. So i hoped i can just use the ID from the next Quest in line and Start and it manual, but no there is no console command for that. There are hundrets or thousands commands for all kind of ♥♥♥♥, even for restarting a quest or fullfilling just a single queststep but there is nothing that lets you start a Quest throw console, rly? At least i didnt found anything.

So after that i thought maybe it helps if you create a save whitout the automatron stuff, so i deactivate in the manager the files related to the DLC and startet the again, hoping that without the files/info at least the questinfo would vanish from my safe. So i startet the game made a new safe, close it and activate the dlc files again. Then i startet the game again but all i have acomplished was that now Ada is vanished, there is no carvan signal, no new quest from DLC and no Info or anything how i could restart the questline or finish it on anotherway. I must rly say i like bethesda but im realy pissed how they screw up the last dlc.

They didn't screw up the dlc, make sure you bothered to NOT loot it all at once, take everything one at a time.

If you have Ada then you have the ability to create the robot workbench.

Ada does not interact with the component. You install the compenent on Ada, after talking to Ada.

You disabled the DLC and everything included in it. Then you complain the stuff is gone?

Console commands are NOT going to help you if you have no clue how to use them. You can easily break a quest using console command to finish a quest because you skipped stages, especially in quest chains.

Considering you disabled your DLC then blamed Bethesda for the items disappearing console commands are definitely not something you should be touching.

Are you guys stupid? I dont complain about disapering items, ok Ada disapeard but i dont care about that now. In the original state it was not possible to continue the quest. The questmarker was clearly on killed boss and the questprogress said i or Ada should take/use or wahtever the robobotbrain in the loot was no robotbrain. I tried it many times in different ways. There was no robotbrain and Ada didnt do anything and everytime i tried to talk to her she conly gave me some scrap or items.

There was no way to continue the Quest the normal way. And yes i dont like the fact that it is not possible to restart a questchain or start a quest via console because this would solve my problem.

Ada doesn't interact with the robo -brain. You talk to it, take it with you . Go back to your settlement , make robot workbench , then install the item in ADA after making a body for Jezebel. It can be confusing , because the quest marker pops up on Ada while you are still in the factory.

Yes, I am completely stupid for wasting my time trying to help someone who could not complete a quest without jumping to console commands the second they could not figure something out. Then to make matters worse you are clueless when it comes to console commands are or do.

I should have known better than to even bother helping you the moment you thought disabling your DLC would solve the problem.

Funny how you can look up console ID #s for a quest yet you can not even mention which quest you on are. That should have been my first clue you were beyond help.

You wasted your time Xabungle, stupid is still on the part before that.

@Bored Are you stuborn or something? I told in my very first post that it was NOT possible for me to complete the quest the way it should normaly be. I told you guys that it was bugged for me (and for a lot of other people also if you would do a bit research on internet), thats why i tried to help my self first. But you simply ignored this fact and now im the bad guy? Are you mad? I asked here for help, for a solution to this problem not for some stupid trolls that spam my topic with nonsense that dont help. Its not my fault if you are not able to understand what i trying to say and auto aggro everything you read.

@Xabungie Thx at least now i know how the quest normaly should work. There was no option for me talking to it, as soon i enterd the factory everything in it went aggro on me. The only think i could interact with besides Ada where the terminals.

Take someone else as a companion if she won't talk to you. After that, she suddenly does. I had to do that when the dlc first came out, and just recently in my newest playthrough. It's counterintuitive, but it works.

Actually it is your fault. You never specified WHICH quest. Even after I pointed this out you still are not mentioning which quest is bugged.

If you have Ada you have the ability to create a robot workbench. Considering Ada gave you the schematics to allow you to build it.

As for console commands, there is plenty of console commands to fix quests. You obviously do not know how to use them. You could have given yourself the missing item, you could have advanced to the next stage, you can even reset a quest. The last thing you ever want to do especially in a quest chain is to automatically finish a quest with a console command. You will break every quest following that quest because you never set any stages for future quests.

You asked for help. I pointed out you already had the ability to create the robot workshop if you had Ada. I also pointed out you needed to install the item into Ada to progress.

I also pointed out that you have no idea what you are doing with console commands which can end up breaking more than you fix.

What did I get in return?

Yeah that is the way to get help. Your loss, not mine. When it comes to console commands to fix quests and such I am one the best ones around here to ask.

I could not be any clearer in the help because YOU lacked to give the important info. Like WHAT specific quest. Instead you went off on some general ranting about the game.

With an attitude like your towards people trying to help you deserve every bit of frustation karma sends your way.

Kudos for keeping calm and even bothering to respond again to this ungrateful SOB.

I've done all the automatron quests twice, no bugs. my current character has Mech. workbench too.
Skeena May 14, 2016 @ 11:33am
check this thread for the fix, I had the same issue. It contains spoilers obviously.

edit: and you need level 15 for the quest to start...

Sounds like you need to stop reading quest guides online and stop to listen/read what the *game* is telling you to do. You got ahead of yourself when you expected Ada to interact with the tracking component, IIRC you're supposed to take it and add it to her in the robotics workbench. The robobrain, I'm assuming you're talking about Jezebel... you *take* it/her. Ada doesn't interact with anything until after you've added those items (and for gods sake, if you can, swap those frickin automatron legs out for assaultron or robobrain units). Ada tracks stuff and opens doors, that's it for specialty.

He uninstalled the DLC on the load screen THEN started the game which was why eveyrhting disappeared on him.

That link uses the setstage command. I wonder if using a giveplayer command would have worked instead. Possibly not because giving an item dont trigger until you actually pick it up.

LOL, found this in the linked topic:

Good to know for my next playthrough, but i made the mistake and complete the quest with the questcomplete console command, now i cant get the next one. :D

Like I said before, noobs resorting to console commands the second they can not figure something out. No big deal if they had been smart enough to save BEFORE throwing console commands, that way when they screw things up they can reload. Least that is what I did when I learned the console commands for Emogene Takes a Lover.

Why he can not roll back to an earlier autosave I do not know, lol.
