Tesla Rifle and Gauss Cannon
I guess no one noticed as its no where on the internet but the Gauss Cannon from Doom and the Tesla Rifle from Fallout 4 are just about the same gun. The Gauss Cannon has just about the same design alongside a charging feature around the barrel of the gun. It of course compares to the charge shot Tesla Rifle from Fallout 4.

Really? You think that both tesla guns from Doom or from F4 wasn't "invented" before in other games? Yeah...
Show me a picture of another gun in a game that looks like them then.

What's up with that Doom's gauss anyways, that's not how gauss works! They turned it into a some sort of raygun.

There's no flashy light effects when you fire gauss.

Well I think its supposed to be Quake's Railgun as the game seems to be based off of Quake. Wouldn't look cool without the effects.

You know what I mean - you could hold the slug from a gauss rifle in your hand no problem, can't do that with electricity on its own. I meant "physical projectile" in the conventional sense, not the 100% scientificly-accurate sense.
Both guns use coils to fire their projectiles...
But the Tesla Gun doesn't have a projectile. At least not in the conventional sense - it fires a stream of energy. There is no physical object that it propels that you can casually hold in your hand as you could the slug from a gauss rifle. You can't just hold raw electricity in your bare hand. There's no firing chamber on the Tesla Gun you can open to pull out a projectile; you stick your fingers in there, you'll get electrocuted.

I don't care if, being 100% scientific about it, electrity has mass. I don't care if you consider it to have a physical presense or not - regardless of whether that's scentifically true or not - they are still weapons that work on completely different principles.

Well if you want to take it that way then the Gauss Cannon doesn't have a projectile as well. It too fires a beam of energy. There you have it, your entire argument is no more.

OMG THEY STOLE IT!!!1111!!!

Dude, lightning guns have been in games for a loooooooooooooooong time. At the very least, going back to Quake.

Lol. That's a very uneducated accusation you have there. Electricity has mass as well as it is energy, also physical.
Light also has mass and energy, but nobody in their right mind will call a beam of light a "physical" object.

Electricity is not a physical object. It is created by the movement of electrons, it is not the electron themselves. So therefore, electricity is not physical.

...so what? one is a gauss gun (eg fires shots at an insane veliocity) and the other shoots lightning so what if they share the same model?
They are both high velocity if you pay attention to the charging barrel's animation. It pulls back the 2nd set of coils to create a Gauss rifle effect. That's how Gauss rifles work.

That's *not* how gauss rifles work. its a cylinder composed of sets of electromagnets that are sequentially pusled to push and pull a ferric projectile through.

Everyone is trying to outgoogle the person before them! This is better than going to the cinema and cheaper too.
Dude its basic science. Learning about electrons is what grade again? 7th?

And what grade are you in? 7th?

Well its how these Gauss Rifles work. One shoots electricity and the other shoots... well some kind of energy. If you think you are so smart then tell me what happens when two Tesla coils are contracted together and then slowly pulled apart.

I'm actually a college student thanks. Liberal Studies is my major.

Bethesda publishes both games. They might have the same "in-house" guy doing the model.
