[SOLVED] Question about water purifiers
I've build around 30 industrial water purifiers on spectacle island, yet they don't seem to produce any purified water stored in the workbench.
They are all connected to an energy source and the settlement info tells me i've got 999 water on that island.

How's happiness in your Spectacle Island settlement? Resource production is directly dependent on this stat. Zero happiness means zero food and zero water, and even if you have settlers to produce resources for you, with good happiness, what is left for you is what they do not consume.

It's at 41. But there are no settlers there, just a few robots. Might that be the problem?

Is Spectacle connected to other settlements that could be using the water? That's another possible reason.

Most likely. Purified water will only be dropped in your workshop if water is consumed and there is something left from what settlers use to survive, and since robots do not consume anything, I guess you need to populate your settlement with human settlers.

If there is any purified water left in the workbench of that settlement, more will not spawn. This goes for food like corn and tatos and stuff as well. The settlements workbench must have 0 of said product for new stuff to spawn. If even one bottle is there, it will block the spawning of more. You have to go back every 24 hours and clear the workshop of that item to keep getting more to spawn. You can store the items in a box next to the workbench, just not inside of the workbench.

I'm hoping there will be a mod that fixes this eventually. Its kinda dumb.

That worked. As soon as i had one settler there, i got the water.
Thank you.

Glad it worked.

This could be incorperated into a guide, if someone happens to have a semi popular one. Non-intuitive stuff like this is why guides exist

True. I might come up with something since I have already a small guide written somewhere else, regarding settlement management.

Although the settler presence already fixed it, I do believe you'll produce more water with fewer bots present, or at the very least, enough happiness boosts to offset their negatives.

Still not 100% convinced bots have a negative to happiness as it's a hard thing to see in my settlements. But it's certainly worth considering.

Robots do not influence happiness, directly, in anyway, positively or negatively, unless you put them to work on some activity that is indirectly linked to it, like on defense (if defense is too low when compared to food and water combined, happiness decreases).

You have to wait about 48 hours in game before the water will start to show up

my setup at taffington boathouse is working great, I get around 800 bottles every few days

I had to use medium size pumps cause large requires the science perk and I can't get that when keeping intel low for idiot savant perk to work.

Robots are going to cap your happiness at 50.
