Automatron arm weapons, auto laser is king?

As I buy more perks, I keep unlocking more and more arm weapons. Gattling guns, gattling lasers, etc. My problem is that every new weapon I unlock seems to be worse than the simple automatic laser I started with. I know the stats say that the auto laser is weak, but what those stats are failing to display are fire rate (crazy high on the autolaser) and accuracy (nearly pinpoint on the autolaser).

Try this experiment: Run a bot follower with two gattling lasers, then two miniguns, then two auto lasers. You'll see that the auto lasers kill enemies faster, because the vast majority of shots actually hit the target and quickly burn them down. The gattling laser makes for a great light show, but few of those shots actually connect.

Anyone else notice this?

I haven't bothered to get my INT up to where I can take the Robotics perk because dual Autolasers seem to rip through everything very fast
