All my other mods work fine and i made all the proper ini file changes to enable mods, but none of the texture mods i install work save for the pip boy retexture mod i installed from the bethesda mods page. All the other mods i down load from nexus work fine as well as all the mods i down load from bethesda. I cant figure out why the texture mods wont work out. please help!

I love me some gopher, but I have never seen it. I have been modding BGS games since Morrowind. I hope you are not asking me to watch a video to offer some advice. You can't just cut and paste the chages you made?

Sometimes gettting info out of someone seems more like pulling teeth, Well I gotta do some RL things, will check back later to see if I can help you any

This is what your Fallout4Custom.ini should look like.

[Display]
iLocation X=0
iLocation Y=0
[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

And then your Fallout4Prefs.ini folder should have at the very bottom:

[Launcher]
uLastAspectRatio=1
bEnableFileSelection=1

yeah they both are like that. i double checked

Not sure then, I was having endless troubles with mods but it turned out that I had accidentally hit enter and gone a space down under {ARCHIVE} lol. Also at times for some reason NMM decides to untick my plugins even though they show as installed on the mod page, so double check that.

thanks

Failing that, uninstall all mods and plugins, delete .ini files, verify game cache, launch game with no mods (to reset the ini files) make the changes to the files, re enable mods and plugins. Good luck.

This guy does some textures really well and his ini modification he mentions in his page helps alot. Make sure your texture mods are up to date with the latest updates if there are any, i had to go through and update MANY of mine

I know this is an old topic, but I've suddenly run into the same issue after having left Fallout 4 alone for a while to play Skyrim SE. I came back to the game and suddenly none of my textures or meshes would load properly. Everything else worked fine and everything that uses vanilla textures rolls along without any trouble. There are no real issues with gameplay either, but any and all mods that included new textures or meshes(i.e. CBBE, Apachii hair, Black Synth armor, etc.) that had worked seamlessly before suddenly quit.

The only thing that I can think of is my Geforce optimization may have fiddled with something, but I have tried every fix that I could think of and every one I could find on every site that even remotely addressed the issue. The only thing I haven't done is a complete uninstall and reinstall of the game, and I'd like to avoid this since my internet here is potato slow and it may take days to get the game back.

Thank you all for the time it takes to read this and in advance for any help you can offer.

I ran into this issue, due to additional copies of fallout4.ini, fallout4custom.ini, and fallout4prefs.ini existing elsewhere on my computer. For me, they were under C:\Users\{name}\Documents\my games\Fallout4

This seems to happen if you delete the steam version (with saves) and redownload to another location.
