Fallout 4 Crashes After I Click the 'Play' Button

I decided to start playing Fallout 4 again after not playing it for months and I saw that I can install mods from the main menu now so the first thing I installed was the 'Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch' then my game had to restart but it was still working fine, then I installed another mod called 'AtomicRadio' and once I finished installing that I restarted again but this time my game crashed while restarting and now whenever I try to play Fallout 4, it comes up with the launcher and when I press play it comes up with a black screen for like 2 seconds then the game just crashes, no message or anything.

My specs are, OS: Windows 10, CPU: Intel Core i5-4690 3.50GHz, GPU: Nvidia gtx 970, RAM:16 GB and yes, all my drivers are up to date.

If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it =)

Go to %localappdata%/fallout4 and edit plugins.txt to remove line for AtomicRadio. That should get it working again. I am not familiar with that mod but that should disable it.

if your using Avast it might be that. turn off your fileprotection launch game and once in game turn fileprotection back on.

Oh, thanks =D Disabling Avast made it work. But howcome this happened all of a sudden? Like I've had Avast for a while and Fallout 4 always worked fine but now suddenly it doesn't work while Avast is on. I thought it had something to do with the mods I installed cause it stopped working right after I installed AtomicRadio.

un official patch probably i seem to remmemmber i had problems with skyrim aswell.

I removed both Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch and AtomicRadio from Plugins.txt but it still doesn't work unless I disable Avast.

ohh avast i had problems with avast before doing the same thing before so i switched to avg.

same for me mate, before the 1.5 patch the game worked fine after 1.5 patch i need this workaround to launch the game.

Anyone that have another solution to this mess? I do not use Avast, i use F-Secure and the game worked for me before. Not fine but it worked in fullscreen if i did the start up, quit, go to options and then uncheck windowed mode. Now it close down when i try to load up a save.

That's a different problem from what I'm having. Your's crashes when you try to load a save but mine won't even start. Just try temporarily disabling your antivirus like I did.

Dont have any mods or DLC on it. But my F-Secure did have a big update, i will have to check that out.
