vats gives a player too much advantage

survival is a real challenge when u dont use vat

I've almost always played without using vats in since 3. Pretty much the only time I use it is when I'm goofing around.

TBH I wouldn't even miss it if it was removed.

i don't get this thread. People who don't like vats can just simply not use it. same goes for fallout 3 and vegas. It's optional. If you think it's too easy, don't use it. Don't need to go survival mode to figure that out.

If you can aim, VATS isn't OP. If you can't aim, it just keeps you from being helpless. That is unless you're doing a melee build.

VATS is annoying sometimes. Have you ever missed a shot even when VATS tells you 95% accuracy? I sure have. Any shot that isn't over 55% in VATS is practically garuanteed to miss.

Exactly. VATS is there as a nod to the games turn-based origin. Bethesda knew that many of us were iffy on the changes they were making in the game to start with and the fact that the game is supposed to be an *RPG* and not an FPS - the difference is in an RPG your *character* is doing stuff while in an FOS *you* are doing stuff - and VATS allows (or allowed) your *character's* skills to dominate combat if you so chose while those who wanted to bro-down with some CoD-lite could still do their manual boomheadshotfaggoting if *they* wanted to.

Don't like VATS, don't use VATS, because its not *for* you.

Usually if you miss at 95% it's because something was just barely in the way or an enemy moved just right. It's rare though and usually caused by faulty positioning. VATS uses projectiles for bullets instead of beams like when shooting outside of VATS.

Could have just been one of those times you miss. 95% isn't 100%. And from experience in games with % chance to hit, 100% isn't even always assured :P

Vats is kind of useless when the enemies aren't bullet spounges. People may complain about spongey enemies in Fallout 4, but if you remember Fallout 3, a Super Mutant Overlord could take so much damage, you could empty 3 magazines before making a dent. VATS allowed you cripple the enemies (Especially Arms or legs) in these prolonged fights.

it is up to the player to use it or not.
eg. My game should not affect your game in any way, i like to have that option if i want to use it or not.
if you do not like it. do not use it. simple as that.

I think you need to be able to take more damage in VATS, I don't think there's really a good reason to make the player 99% invincible now that you can abort VATS at any time. Maybe like a 66% DR or something.

Actually your character took additional damage while in VATS 10% in 3 70% in NV. At the end of the day VATS can screw you over.

They already nerfed VATS in 4. If you are going to whine that much don't use it.
