I
am
CAVE
...buuut Improved Map with Visible Roads seems to be the culprint. Install that and I AM CAVE, remove Improved Map with Visible Roads and I AM THE LONE SURVIVOR again.
Guess my favorite map mod has to go. -sob-
You were right. At least on my end using Zoom-out Extended for World and Local Maps with ANY one of the four map mods messed up my position cursor, changing it to a cave. AND one of the quest cursors got changed to a downward facing player-position icon.
I'm now playing with Satellite World Map (just 4k since I'm a peasant and need the FPS) in monochrome and I gotta say, the zoom barely is missed now that I ♥♥♥♥♥♥' know where I am properly. The Cave Icon is kinda huge to begin with and wide too.
Anyway, thanks for your help. It's appreciated. ^_^
and it worked with Satellite world map monochrome without getting the cave bug.
I've tried uninstalling the mods, deleting my .ini file, and then out of desperation wiping all my mods to find a culprit. Nothing has worked, I'm back to vanilla with damn cave icons. What is going on???
Oddly, purchasing and loading the Vault-Tec DLC seemed to fix everything. It also fixed the icons in Workshop mode to properly note which categories have modded ([M]) or DLC additions; previously they were all Raider icons which I thought was normal. I had Far Harbor and Automatron installed where the bug was still present, but after adding the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC, the map functionality was restored and map mods worked once again.

And it just happened when the newest patch installed... :P
Yeah I have the same problem too. I've uninstalled all map mods and I still have this problem.
I'm honestly guessing it's because I am using the 1.6 version of F4SE, with the new 1.7 version of Fallout. I don't have patience for the update of F4SE, so I just downgraded my Fallout4.exe from 1.7 to 1.6 so F4SE would work. :P

Doesn't fix it either. Don't bother removing your map mods or using the patch. The only thing that fixes it is upgrading to 1.7.9 which sucks because no achievements.
