Automatron DLC: Customised Robots reset to Default Chassis
Hi all,

I made 3 exactly the same custom Robots to handle 3 Supply Lines, and I found one had reset to its Default Chassis.

I fixed it, and came back to my main Settlement to find now a different one has now reset.

Is anyone else getting this issue?

I can personally verify that this issue is still there. The work-around is :

1. Create your custom robot but do NOT assign it to a supply line yet

2. Recruit the robot you just made as a COMPANION. That will mark the robot as ESSENTIAL and it will not change back to default when the cell resets.

3. Dismiss your robot companion

4. Now assign that robot to a supply line

Anyone?

Yes, i had the same problem with one robot, using a supply line between Sanctuary and Red Rocket. Had to rebuild every upgrades he had (armor and so on). So far this bug has not happened again for me.

yes it happens when you move robots between settlements and on supply lines.
I haven't had this happen that I have noticed . If it appears to happen , i will post some thing back.

Stramb and EGC, that's exactly it - Hopefully something is done about it, as it costs a small fortune in Junk to rebuild!

well until then don't use them for supply line, and build a robot building station at each settlement

resources are not a problem for me, I use the Water Filtration Farming Trick as currency in the game, and trade Filtered Water for Shipments of supplies at traders.

Indeed, i think it happened for me a bit after i relocated one bot to another settlement. I've not tried again since, but i've built other bots for a few supply lines, and so far it works normally.

Are you guys using any mods by chance?

Aside from running a script on Red Rocket to eliminate the Build Limit, I'm running a totally vanilla game.

Well crap... I was wondering why some of my supplier bots were resetting to default chassis. I had two suppliers do this very thing last night. The only reason I have been building bots is for settlement guards and supply lines. I really do hope this is addressed by bethsoft in a future update.

Same problem here, but not just with Provisioners. I created three unique robots to serve as Guards in Graygarden, and twice now they've reverted back to the default chassis. I thought the first time was a fluke and rebuilt them, but since it's happened again I'm done creating custom robots to act as settlers. Very annoying.

Just an update - I think this issue may be fixed.

I re-did my Supply Line Robots this week, and all are still what I made them as of yesterday and a full week of playing.

Yeah this is when it is well known to happen. When you set a robot to a settlement, make sure you always send it to that settlement if you use it. Its when you change thier whole settlement (with exception of that 1st time you tell them to go somewhere to actually set it), that they lose thier equipment. I believe the same can happen thou if you change thier supply line.

As long as you always send them to the same settlement you intially set as home (or don;t switch thier supply line once you set it) for them thou, seems to be avoiding the issue. Have one character that has made a wide selection of bots, and been using them for some time without reperating the issue.
