Locations of .ini Files

Some of my mods won't work and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the location of my .ini files.

Fallout4Prefs.ini is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Fallout4
Fallout4.ini (previously Fallout4Default) is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4

Are these the right directories?

No, the only file that has anything to do with mods is the Fallout4Custom you want the ones in C:\Documents\MyGames\Fallout4 there are three files:

Fallout4
Fallout4Custom(for enabling mods)
Fallout4Prefs

the one in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Fallout4 is basically a copy of the Fallout4Prefs config file in Documents. Though .ini files don't play a role in using mods, if your having issues with certain mods try deactivating them via NMM and then reactivating them Note: activating/deactivating NMM mods may disable all your mods at game launch, in this case close FO4 go into the plugins tab in NMM and re-tick the box in front of your plugins.

Other possible reasons some of your mods aren't working, Mod conflicts (check the mod authors page to see any incompatabilities), If it's a settlement mod you may need a patch, or have to download Settlement Keywords to get the custom categories/items to show up in the workshop.

Well, now some mods are working, but others have stopped completely! All of the custom radio stations that got added have disappeared!

No. Those are masters that the *in use* config files are copied from. Do not make changes to these at all.

Your config files are found in /MyDocuments/MyGames/Fallout 4.

HOWEVER - do not edit Fallout.ini or FalloutPrefs.ini. Create a file called Custom.ini (if it doesn't already exist) and add your .ini changes there.

The radio stations still won't work. :/ I re-installed them, yet they're not showing up!

OK, it's working now.

Off topic, but do you know how to manually start quests? Some won't let me start them up, especially ones in Diamon City.

If I need to insert a line into the Fallout4.ini file to slow the rotation of furniture do I still create a custom file or can I edit the Fallout4Perfs.ini?

I'm not sure TBH.

I put it in the Fallout4Perfs.ini file. It's easy to remove if it doesn't work but I can't try it in game because achievement Enabler stopped working so I'm waiting for a fix. And playing 76 until then.
